This is my official kickoff video for my #EraCorrectGB24. Rules are fairly simple. From February 15 to June, 9, 2024. Any vehicle 1954 or before, started, rebuilder, new, whatever. All styles of build allowed. All mods, colors and finishes must have been available 1954 and before. Please post final videos on June 9th. Have fun and I hope you join in!

Happy belated birthday Grady! You got some nice birthday kits added to the stash. That will be neat seeing the Packard being built for the group build. They have such a unique, beautiful styling. I don't know if I have any true holy grail. My '63 Galaxie is my favorite car, and AMT made all the Ford, Mercury, and Lincoln cars in 1963, so that would be neat I think to have the whole year set. I have a few models that my dad owns the real cars that would probably be grails. The most grailworthy, if that is a word, would be Johan's 70 Javelin.

That Javelin was one of my grails as well. I paid dearly for it but I have one!

All nice kits Grady. The 59 and 60 Impalas from Monogram are great. Those Museum collections from Monogram also look cool. Happy belated Birthday.

I love, love, love those Monogram Museum Pieces kits. I built the 32 V16 Cadillac years ago and am building the 41 Lincoln Continental now. I'll definitely pick up the others when I find them.

Hey Grady, nice video. Good choice. Love that Packard. Those museum pieces kits are awesome!! Very cool. Got to get me one of those ‘60 Impalas to go with my ‘59. STS decals maybe? I know they have some lace and things like that. ‘59 is sweet slammed with a continental kit. I really want to get one of those hearses. That mpc Mako Shark is awesome!! Great score. Love it. Happy birthday also! Still have plans to jump in your GB. I just have to decide which kit to build and get a couple other builds out the way first. There’s too many kits I want to worry to much about holy grails. I love so much. Right now maybe the Jo-Han hearse to go with my ambulance but I’d have to find it for less than it’s going for now. I’m fine spending money but I’d rather find somewhat of a deal. Before it was the Leyton House F1 car so maybe it does change every time. lol.

I'm going to see what I can find to join your group build. My holy grail kit would be a javelin by jo-han There were several to choose from My previous holy grail was the jo-han Chrysler Turbine car. Found a rough and I mean really rough, rebuilder on e bay for 30 bucks. After a good bit of work, it looks nice on the shelf

For me it's never ending, when I get it a nother because it, I have some many, some of my are the mpc Fonzie's triumph bike kit, and the old revell triumph drag bike kit, revell 57 nomad with opening doors

Sheesh…., I’ve got a bunch of holy grail kits that I’d like to have, get, whatever and about all the Johan kits but I know I’m never going to get them, not this stage in my life, people want absolutely ridiculous money for them anyways. My main ones I’d like to get the Johan Rebel the machine and the 66 Marlin, just for starters.

Both of those are on my list as well, especially the Marlin. It really is a shame that people want so much for them. I wish someone would work out the licensing or whatever and repop all those Johan kits!

@@unclesweetiesmodelworks - amen to that brother, amen! I guess Okie Spaulding has still got a lot of those Johan molds and things, he’s had them for years now, last I heard. I also heard that one of the guys from Round 2 or one of those model companies, tried to get some of the molds off of Okie but I guess they couldn’t reach any kind of agreement or whatever, what a bummer too! That’s been quite a few years ago since that happened, I don’t know if anyone else has talked to Okie since then, he lives here in Ky, up in Northern Ky, Covington.
