So great, really? To me he looks unhealthy swollen. Nevertheless I've been following Erasure and buying their stuff from the beginning, I'm thankful they're still around. But to say he's looking gorgeous is a bit exaggerating considering there are really gorgeous looking stars his age or even older like Phil Oakey of The Human League or Morten Harket of a-ha. I mean "gorgeous" has a meaning, right? If each and everyone looks "gorgeous" then nobody does 😉
@user-yj8kl8jf4e10 ай бұрын
@@ingvarjensen1088 Argument is valid, but you should see him few years ago, saw few interviews where he looked very bad so in comparisson wanted to say he looks very well today( though not super fit and healthy). Having his diagnosis cant expect look like fire,but he holds on very well!
@ingvarjensen108810 ай бұрын
@@user-yj8kl8jf4e OK, I see your point. And thank you for being kind 🤗 I'm 59 and I've been HIV positive since 1998, so maybe I am lucky to not look "like that" (whatever that may mean). I just purchased Erasure's "The Neon Live" album and was stunned by Andy's live vocals. His voice seems a bit lower now, but what a performance!

I've always loved Erasure's music and they were one of THE best bands to cone out of the 80s. Their music still sounds amazing and Andy's voice still amazes, so it's sad to hear about the recent 'hoo ha' of his performance at the Rewind Festival. I hope that's just a 'glitch' and that he's still up to putting on good performances, which fans expect because of Erasure's huge catalogue of great songs. I hope that Andy's well and that there's nothing wrong. He seems so down to earth, sweet and likeable and this interview on GMB was touching. He was so sweet and seemed nervous! Such a nice, talented guy.

Hi Mark, I just made a comment under another video of your platform when I found your channel. I have to repeat my post with a request: You're obviously a good friend of Andy & Vince. Could you pass this on to Andy in particular? I met the both many times as a friend of the German fan community called “Heavenly Action”. The first time at a concert was the day the wall came down in Germany, on November 9th, 1989. Another very special and great show was the party at the “Milton Keynes Bowl” on September 1st, 1990. I had the great pleasure of being there to celebrate my 20th birthday that day! And there were many nice happening like the “Meet and Greet” in Dublin and the day in Berlin where Andy recorded a birthday greeting for Steffen on a dictaphone after the show. Please send him warm greetings from Volker from Germany. Maybe I can say a few words directly to them this way: Andy, you have truly enriched my life. And to you both in memory of the Abbaesque period, which was also a special time for you, Andy, if I remember correctly: "Thank you for the music!"

Jimmy Summerville and Andy Bell ( plus a fair few others ) were openly gay popular singers in the 70s and it was a very different thing to be in those days. I can't imagine my life without the positive, high energy, joyful music of erasure. "Respect" got me through a difficult time during a bad illness. Big up Erasure. They should be given their full dues as immensely influential disco, soul and motivational/affirmation to the often disenfranchised gay sector. Forever fresh, Erasure never dates. ❤

I was discussing with my 11 year old recently just how brave it was to be openly gay at that time. George Michael was the example I used to illustrate how scary it must have been, as he was unable to be open even after he'd made more than enough money to cushion a decline in popularity.

That is Wild! that Andy lives so close to George Michael, and they are both musicians from the 80s, and yet their only encounters were from a brief fleeting moment on the street through eye contact. The way Andy describes it implies that George knew who Andy was. This herkens back to Vince, who repeatedly states that everyone assumes musicians all know each other on some personal level.
