In this video we discussed about the anatomy of brachial plexus injury or Erb's paralysis or Erb's Palsy in detail.
Site of injury. One region of the upper trunk of the brachial plexus is called Erb's point. Six nerves meet here. Injury to the upper trunk causes Erb's paralysis.
Causes of injury: Undue separation of the head from the shoulder, which is commonly encountered in the following.
i. Birth injury
ii. Fall on the shoulder
iii. During anaesthesia.
Nerue roots involved: Mainly C5 and partly C6.
Muscles paralysed: Mainly biceps brachii, deltoid, brachialis and brachioradialis. Partly supraspinatus, infraspinatus and supinator.
Deformity and position of the limb
Arm: Hangs by the side; it is adducted and medially rotated.
Forearm: Extended and pronated.
The deformity is known as'policeman's tip hand' or waiter's tip hand or'porter's tip hand'.
Disability: The following movements are lost.
*Abduction and lateral rotation of the arm at shoulder joint.
*Flexion and supination of the forearm,
*Biceps and supinator jerks are lost.
*Sensations are lost over a small area over the lower part of the deltoid.

Sir erbs palsy curable or not

Yes it may be curable. In majority of cases, erbs palsy involve minimal damage to the nerves. Most infant's with this condition will not need any treatment. Moderate use of the affected arm is enough to facilitate healing of the nerves. Physical therapy is recommended to speed healing. If child with erbs palsy shows no signs of healing by about 6 months of age, then surgery may be done to remove pressure placed on damaged nerves and promoted healing. Neuromuscular electrical stimulation is also done which minimise the weakening of muscles that a child with erbs palsy is unable to use naturally. Botox therapy (injection of botulinum toxin) has been used to improve shoulder flexibility.

And he tolled me mild nerve injury no need MRI scan and continue. Physiotherapy.
