You're describing 2-hour sleep cycles after you wake up at 2:30 AM, each ending with REM sleep, when your muscles relax the most.

Another great video, Dr Park. In cases where breathing obstruction may be caused by an enlarged palate, any views on the NightLase treatment as a safer alternative to UPPP/palatoplasty?

It's a good place to start, along with all the other in-office snoring treatments. However, these procedures are more conservative and are not as effective as the modern palatoplasties for snoring and sleep apnea. Also, these office procedures are usually not covered by insurance. A simpler, significantly less effective way of treating snoring that's comparable is the injection snoreplasty procedure. Unfortunately, not too many ENTs are doing it anymore, but you can search for it. Another option is the mandibular advancement device. Tongue exercises are also found to help with snoring and lower sleep apnea severity by 50%. Good luck!

I very strongly feel that the first thing to check with ED is sleep disruptions, for me it is a clear indicator on whether I was treated with CPAP that night or not

Hi Doctor Steven You seem to be very knowledgeable person, I have a question if you kindly guide me in this respect. 4 years ago I talked to my ENT specialist about a small lump on my neck. He did biopsy and ultra sound and told me he wasn't sure what it was but it's about 4 cm ad not benign. 2 years later he did again ultra sound and didn't tell me anything about it, now he sent me again for ultra sound and told me the nodules on my thyroid are growing and it is now 5 cm and must be removed immediately since it may be cancerous. At this time I asked him so many questions like: why he wasn't sure what it was 4 years ago. why he said it is not canserous. Why he didn't suggest any medication over the years and now he wants to perform surgery right away????? Well I told him I need some time to think about it because, I don't feel any problem with breathing, eating and speaking and what happens if after the surgery it goes other way around? I shal appreciate your reply.

Without knowing more details, it's hard to comment on. Needle biopsies are not too accurate for the most common thyroid cancers, called papillary cancer. Continued growth is another reason for surgery, but the only way to confirm if it is cancer is to remove the thyroid on the tumor size and analyze it formally. Your doctors should be able to explain their reasoning in more detail.

Funny, until recently I hadn't realized that Mario updated his favorite way to tackle ED and it's a relief! Although what he previously suggested was pretty good, it was a real pain to follow... I just go'ogled the latest in Mario's Thunderous Erections, it's so much easier and potent now!
