That’s the point. Eren saw what Mikasa saw during his time asleep in the first episode. He also foresaw the rumbling and everything leading up to that point because of paths. It WAS intentional.

I had a sad realization In the very beginning Eren promised to wipe the world of all Titans How everything ended up, that could have been his plan all along. Because as long as Titans exist and they’re both a threat and a target of power for nations like Marley To eliminate Titans, Eren had to absorb the Founding Titan, connect to the source of all Titans, and have the power to control all Titans Through the Rumbling he became a threat for humanity to unite agsinst and with his demise, Titans disappeared Both freeing humanity from the threat of Titans and from Titans being used as a weapon If in alternate ending, Eren ran away with Mikasa, titans would still exist at the end of his 13 year life span True they’ll be other problems without the Titans but it seemed that this main ending was the only choice Eren had to go forward.

I just love the cabin sequence so much. Eren didn’t truly know what Mikasa would’ve wished for, or what she would’ve done since he can’t read her mind. He can only guess bits and pieces. So he shows her what he would’ve wished for had circumstances been different. I love his line “that’s what you said Mikasa. You wanted this” as a twist to say “I wanted this” And Mikasa is shocked to hear he essentially ran away in this dream. It’s his confession to her, but it’s also painted in a way that says “it’s ok, it’s not your fault” and “I know what you meant that night”. It’s very sweet and doesn’t need to be something blatantly obvious since that’s not how their relationship is. It’s special to them and their care for one another. In the hopes that she’ll move on, following his convo with Armin, he asks that she forget him and be free. But Mikasa can’t forget and continues forward. It reminds me of her scene after accepting Eren’s fake death in S1. “I’m sorry Eren. I will never give up again. Because if I die, then these memories of you die with me”. Just a beautifully tragic sequence to bring Mikasa and Eren resolve and peace.

There relationship reminds me bit falco and gabi and I’m not sure if that particular relationship emphasis mikasah and eren relationship but only difference is we see some of their relationship develop better because compared to mikasah and eren falco and gabi were not in a tougher era compared to mikasah and eren who was in much tougher era in their younger days and because of the hate for paradis and becayse of how privileged and unprivileged both of.the sides were from their younger days and becayse falco and gabi had more advanced technology and point I’m trying to make is we see more development from gabi and Falco relationship because had a easier life where’s as gabi was like a female version of eren they look very similar to one and other and gabi acts like eren a lot the version of eren season 1. To season 3 and falco had elements of mikasah personality in terms of in a relationship way polar opposite to mikasah and eren relationship because he was the one that used to calm gabi done like mikasah used to calm eren down when he used to get erratic he’s very protective of her too and caring But falco was not strong like mikasah falcon he is the type person who had to work to a level that was considered a talented level of performance I feel like gabi and falco realtionhip is version of mikasah and eren relationship but it’s more privileged version of mikasah and eren relationship and what could of been had things been different and how better there lived would’ve been Also attack on Titan as a whole it’s like the scouts won the war but they lost the battle in terms of they beat the titans and the world see them as hero’s but they lost so many of their comrades/ friends civilians and plenty more

Actually this was not a dream, they were living in that cabin until Eren died, thats why in episode 1 of manga Mikasa says “see you later, Eren” and thats why Eren cried in episode 1 of anime and manga. Moreover, there is a few OVA’s explaining time lines and Mikasa’s butterfly powers.

​@@abdullahshaibu5274I think we all know that Eren came to the conclusion and is on this mass murder path because he had attempted other paths and the outcome was always endless war people dying regardless. He has the power to see past present future and I suppose this was the only future that worked out for his people. Since Eren ultimately just wanted to protect his friends his race the paradise island. Mikasa doesn't want to kill Eren she's very conflicted and I suppose only Eren can convince her. So he shows her if they took a different path he abandoned his plan, doesn't action it and just go live out his days with Mikasa in hiding the outside world will be just chaotic. War, death. So yeah I think that's why Mikasa at the end could just bravely go and end Eren. I thought they didn't know where Eren's real body was. They were guessing but right at the end Misaka told everyone he's located in the mouth. Unless I missed something, so I think Eren told her in that dream or path. So that's how she was so sure where he was and stopped being conflicted. After she ended him. She carried his head, kiss him said see you later. It's like she fully understands why he is doing what he's doing unlike before. Determines to see him in the afterlife. She never said goodbye to him and told him she can't forget about him. I think although in the main path everybody knows and they themselves knows they love each other. They never told each other. But in their hearts they know. They are really great character. Armin always the one thats left behind lol.

Mikasa got her ending with with Eren for his remaining 4 years I believe in an alternate universe. In that universe, him dying at the cabin perfectly synced up with him dying in the reality we all saw. She got to live with him and be in love the way they both wanted given the circumstances which at least was enough for her to go through with killing him in the other reality because she at least was able to live out both realities at the same time.

If Eren left with Mikasa, the Founding Titan, Attack Titan, and War-Hammer Titan would have all been gone, unless Eren’s corpse was eaten. The Rumbling would never happen again regardless.

Eren had to do what he decided to do in order to protect his friends and the ppl from his island/his race. Yes he killed 80% of people very inhumane but at the same time it's very human of him.
