A lot of you are wondering if he mapped certain cymbals/drums to corresponding notes in the game, and I would like to put all of your questions to rest. He says in the description that he recorded the RB3 track and the live drums separately. What I'm seeing is that he is playing the actual sounds FROM the track in the live recording, I.e. the R/Y flams are played on snare, B Cymbal is played either as an open hi-hat or (what sounds like) a china (being there no ride in this song), G Cymbal is a crash, Y cymbal throughout most of the song is closed hi-hat, except near the end, its a smaller crash, then the toms all seem to be normal. Hopefully this helps everyone. :3

Jacob Dilworth It's called a hi-hat pedal (separates distance for a "open" sound hence the name open hi-hat.) and closed for the "closed" hi-hat sound.

It isn't; yeah sure you can get some playing expreience from playing the game, but just because you're good at the game doesn't mean you can fully play the instrument in real life. Being an actual drummer takes years of practice.

There's a second pedal he's using with his left foot called a hi-hat pedal, when it's depressed, the hi-hat is closed, and thus makes it a yellow cymbal, and when he lets his foot off it, it opens the hi-hat, and it becomes a blue cymbal.

@ddave1234 I have a Roland TD-3 for mine. You connect a MIDI cable to the drum brain, then to the back of a World Tour drum kit. Then you edit the pads to the right numbers so that they register as each color. You can usually figure out what numbers to set each pad to by googling it. You can use any set that has a MIDI cable output I'm pretty sure. Hope this helps!

If you know what an accent is, in rockband to establish that in the song there's going to be an accent coming up you hit the blue one. The blue note is a mid tom, accent, ride, and china all at the same time.

in Rock Band the color for open hi hat is blue and the color for closed is yellow :) They only chart it this way when the song goes from closed to open hi hat in the same song.. If a song is open hi hat through out the entire song, they will chart it all as yellow.
