Moroccans love Algerian music too. In Tetouan where I come from, a strong Algerian ommunity from Western Algeria settled at Tetouan during the 17th,18th and 18th centuries. There is a book by on this theme. We make qtaif and baqlawa like they do at Tlemsan.Our accent is identical to that of Medrouma. My father diedb in a plane crash at Karachi with Ali Hammami from Algeria in Dec 1949. They were eminent Nationalist leaders. In Tetouan we have a musical genre we call al Gziri. We are brothers united by language, religion, history, culture and arts. I am a historuan who taught at numetous universities for 50 years.
