Just bad judgement on your part Eric, it wasn't a bad review, you should never bring up litigation or even react to an online review unless someone is relentlessly attacking you. None of this would be happening if you had just ignored it, your sales would not have been negatively impacted, and most would have forgotten about it by now. You made a mistake, and this video wasn't exactly the best damage control. I've never heard your speakers, I've been building my own for 50+ years, so you're not losing any business from me because I would have never been a customer anyway. If this were not the case however, Erin's review would not have deterred me from considering your product. Your response to Erin however would. Just a suggestion, your best bet now is probably to just be quiet about it and let it eventually blow over. I see a lot of negativity in the comments here so clearly the damage control isn't working. From what I've seen, you have some unique designs and there is a market for that so just let it go, let things quiet down and in time it will be as if it never happened.

Eric Alexander, you totally lost the focus on this one. Independent measurements should be independent, and he has no right to treat any reviewer the way he did here, no matter how justified he think it is. A independent measurement should not be subject to his verification anyway. In that case, we could just publish the manufacturers own measurements... THUS having NO second opinion. Jeez... How many times have manufactures not been "inventing" measurements? What manufacturers should always be allowed to do though, is to have their say, and defend whatever on the reviewers channel. Then the consumer can decide themselves! He went about it all wrong here, trying to mis-credit Erin in many little ways in his video. But seriously, In the end, NOTHING LIKE THIS matters. If he had send a kind message to Erin, explaining what he thought it was, erin would have included it and investigated it as a reviewer caring so much for his integrity, and that he stepped on. That will not end well for Tekton it will hurt, no matter good intentions or not. We need a alliance for reviewers, media and manufacturers that support Honest Reviews striving to Make HIFI great again for a new generation. Nerd extreme wars like this, does not help the image of HIFI. Eric burned both ends coming on to Erin like this. He did not do his homework.

It took a while but then it came; “I want the audiophiles to sit down and listen…” He hit on the real issue that bothers manufacturers, like him, these days. A growing group of audiophiles that have learned that measurements (can) say more about what a product could mean to your enjoyment and wallet than subjective sponsored reviews from the snake oil salesmen that has been the driving force in this “audiophile” industry for decades. They all shouted and still want to shout “don’t rely on measurements, rely on your ears” and when your ears aren’t satisfied we can sell you some “better” (read: more expensive) cables. If you get sick and tired from an overdose of snake oil, they happily sell you more of it to “cure” you. This guy’s feelings got hurt from a video that the majority of his (potential) customers won’t even see, because they don’t believe in measurements. By publicly freaking out over it, he has even drawn attention from these people and it’s imploding his business. How stupid (and proud) can you be. It’s a good thing that in the end the manufacturers who are going to take the growing number of audiophiles that understand the value of objective measurements seriously, will have a greater chance of success when they work with these reviewers and customers to improve their products and with that the experience we have as listeners. To Erin and Amir: keep up the good work. This ordeal proved its significance.
@ManFromLaBamba7 ай бұрын
Yes and of course today it is harder to listen to a wide range of speakers in a showroom etc. and the same crowd that pays attention to measurements is aware of the showroom tuned speakers that sound energetic, and super detailed in that setting for the ten mi utes or do you listen to it but end up being fatiguing and unpleasant for longer periods in home settings (which tends to have more reflective walls etc).

"We seem to continue to have problems with measurements in those reviews" :D The guy thinks he's the only person who should be allowed to measure loudspeakers. This situation has shown that he, a manufacturer makes mistakes too. The loudspeaker did have poorly constructed cabinet. This isn't the first time this happened. Vance Dickason's work shows plenty of hi-end drivers with imbalanced drive units. It's a direct result of their QC. It's not a problem, it's a REALITY CHECK. Manufacturers are imperfect. Their products are not carbon copies, they have defects, it's happens, it's life. That's why I like brands Sennheiser - they cost a little more, but they fail less than their more aggressively priced competition. Besides don't you love when business money is chasing people with lawyers? If Eric can't see how abrasive behaviour this is, he should have a reality check. But regardless of going to court, retaining a lawyer is beyond the normal budget of most people. Telling them to have their attorney talk to yours is a threat, a financial threat. Presumably they're doing reviews with the same measuring equipment on speakers from companies much larger than yours. And they've obviously produced some undesirable measurements on other products. But you're the one with threats. Consumers like myself, do not come to amateur youtube sites to listen to reviewers who are paid by companies, or censored by others. Bullying honest reviewers is a fast track to not selling your product. After watching Erin's original review I was actually thinking about buying these but I'll never buy from this brand now.

Tekton is like the plague now. I won’t have anything to do with it. Probably wouldn’t have had anything to do with Tekton anyway but wow this guy has killed his business. Eric, you know what litigation means and you know the reaction you were trying to get.

Wow, Eric Alexander, while I can understand that bad measurements or flaws can effect speaker sales, you shouldn't have done this video. You should have showed this video to a lawyer first and got an opinion, then maybe hired a PR person, invited Erin, Amir, Ron and others on a podcast to asked them, first man to man, and then throught the podcast how they derived at their results. This is a PR nightmare, that you only made worst. The only thing that people are going to take away from this is, I want you to SEND ME YOUR MEASUREMENTS FOR MY APPROVAL FIRST, so I can approve them. Throwing darts at the word "Professional Reviewers" doesn't gain you any customers either. Reviewers are now looking at your products like the black plague and you did nothing in this video to change that. Erin specifically said, he did measurements with and without the feet and that he tried to contact you so that this went no further with lawyers. I feel for you as a business man, Eric, but as a person, you come across as cold, not understanding, and you are probably not that way at all. Next time take your own advise, consult with a lawyer before doing videos like this and maybe hire a PR person to medigate the Risk Asessment of ruining your own brand!!!

Merriam-Webster defines litigation as “the act, process, or practice of settling a dispute in a court of law,” or “a legal action or proceeding (such as a lawsuit).”

Interesting take on "fact checking". Mr. Alexander expects reviewers to send him their measurements so he can fact check. Sorry Mr. Alexander, reviewers came into existence to fact check manufacturers claims. Having a passion about what you do is great. That does not make you infallible. Holes for feet that penetrate into a cabinet are ridiculous. This video killed any respect or interest in a Tekton product.

Sounds like you're the one jumping to conclusions. You could/should have verified the miniscule hump was the result of the feet being left out prior to accusing others of bad/faulty data. The sound quality of speakers is objective and influenced by the environment in which they are situated. On the other hand, properly performed measurements can and will disclose the response curve which will confirm or refute what the listener is hearing.

I almost bought Tekton speakers at one point, but for sure won’t now. “My lawyer sits down with your lawyer”? Lmao!

He feels confident he's taken at LEAST 20,000 acoustical measurements. Wow i highly doubt that 😂

I'm in the market for speakers in this class. For sure, it will NOT BE A TEKTON.

Litigation is not a couple of lawyers talking… your non apology and failure to understand your attacks are hollow
