Ships likes these make me upset. One of Boy Meets World's best lessons was that of deep platonic love (most notably seen with Cory and Shawn, but also seen with Eric and Jack). Focusing on Eric and Jack, they are both clearly straight (neither of them showed any romantic interest in men). Despite that, over the show they become very close and form a love for one another, but not romantic. This show does an excellent job at showing platonic love, especially between two men. When people ship Cory and Shawn or Eric and Jack, it pushes the idea that two men cannot have a very close relationship/love for one another without them being gay. That, in turn, promotes "toxic masculinity" as straight men who see ships like these will be hesitant to form relationships like these. I get that this was meant to be harmless, but it's something to think about.

I get what you're saying fam, truly I do, but there is a marked difference between how Cory and Shawn's relationship on the show is portrayed as opposed to these two. With Cory and Shawn you see the beautiful bromance, you get the sense that they love each other very deeply, but it's clear that this love is just platonic. With Eric and Jack you get the same sense of deep platonic love for sure, but the line between friends and more than friends with them is a bit more blurry if you get what I mean…they treat each other a lot more like life partners than as friends despite never being in a relationship. That bit aside, you have a great point about platonic male friendships like Eric's and Jack's and how important they are in order to show that they can exist and thrive. I just think that given the characters of Eric and Jack, them both being straight men who have zero interest in one another seems a tad unrealistic from my POV.
