I really dont like that Dave Meltzer was one of the main people that they interviewed, everytime he speaks even in the documentary he says that he knows for a fact something is one way then seconds later says probably and that he thinks
@tebraizshahzad3364
@tebraizshahzad3364 3 ай бұрын
He's lost his way. Meltzer is subjective and has made many mistakes and errors. I didn't always agree with his opinions but I subscribed to his newsletters in the noughties. They were good reads when at College and in my 20s. Even the historical issues on the Steroid trial, Montreal Screwjob and WWE buying WCW was compelling reading, even if I didn't agree. I think he's lost his way though a fair few years ago. I can understand why many in the business don't like him. He's better as a writer or in written form. He was ok in the 90s and noughties in short soundbite or occasional interviews but his over audio saturation has worked against him.

You can't listen to anything that that man says anymore. He is broken. I'm pretty sure he went through a divorce and I don't mean to sound arrogant or anything like that but you can kind of see it on his face. He seems worn down and hurt and broken. It is what it is I guess. Either way, the documentary was terrible. Didn't do anything new. They literally copied and pasted stuff from other documentaries.

@@user-ol1zk3kv1d I see your point. I think Meltzer came across better as a writer , reading him off the page with the occasional screen interview or comments like in the 90s or naughties. Short interviews He starred featuring on screen/audio too much which made him lose his standing and aura. Combined with being past his bes and the above comments you made.

@@user-ol1zk3kv1d Also, only seen episode 1. Fairly good, they told the story well. Nothing new you're right although found it interesting Vince directly from his mouth talking about Backlind being bland and considering Dusty Rhodes (well known facts but good to hear it from the horse's mouth). They’ll always bring him on when they talk about the 90’s, early 2000’s, Owen, Shawn etc. Whether Bret likes the companies or not, he’s the only one with his perspective in the wrestling world, being Stu’s son, a former World Champion, etc. They’re always going to show us his perspective, whether we like it or not. Everyone wondering why Dave meltzer was in it but the real question is why was Tony Atlas featured so much? They needed him for the Patterson story but he had to have the most screen time of everyone the first three episodes

The only reason they had Meltzer is because he was the main person doing what everyone on YT does now, back when there was no YT (he was on the talk shows & at the events/trials). Notice they had Meltzer & Not Alvarez? Brian doesn’t matter as much as he thinks he does, kinda like Conrad 😂

The difference between Vince stealing stars from AWA and other territories in the 80s and Biscoff stealing from Vince in the 90s was that Vince never crap on his competitors after stealing/buying those stars like Biscoff did with Nash, Scott on Nitro, Medusa dropping the WWF belt to a trash can, giving away WWF results at the start of the show etc.

Only people who have never been abused will sympathize with Vince. Those of us who know abuse know that Vince became what he hated, a monster, because deep down he's fragile. You either come out a protector or a perpetrator. Vince was a vindictive narcissist. He was a perp.

Would like to see Rock & HHH bring back the WCW Brand. 4 Brands to compete against each other at Survivor Series (Raw, Smackdown, NXT, WCW). Also have Eric Bischoff be a part of the WCW Brand in some capacity. Full circle moment for Eric to be a part of the Brand again 20+ years later since WCW stopped operating as a brand.

You are a much wiser man than I gave you credit for. PS Long live FREE SPEECH. Throughout history the censors and war mongers have NEVER been the good guys. This time is no different.

After watching all 6 I’ll say if you’re a hardcore wrestling fan there’s nothing really new. The final episode dealing with the allegations was the only info that was sort of fresh. I wouldn’t call it a hit piece on Vince. Quick spoiler. One emotional moment was Shane talking about his dad, when he returned to WM, and the moment they shared , a loving father with his son.

Conrad silencing Eric and not allowing him to talk politically is NOT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Major thumbs down, and from multiple accounts I own.
@Stonehorn
@Stonehorn 3 ай бұрын
Why? If he wants to talk politics, he should do it on his non-wrestling show. There is literally nothing about this documentary that requires political statements from Eric. Talk wrestling. Also, thumbs down gives them engagement. In the KZbin algorithm, the thumbs down carries the exact same value as the thumbs up. It’s relies on engagement, not the type of engagement.

I thought an interesting point that they briefly discussed was how they wanted to find a new charismatic champion and they briefly showed dusty but then quickly say how it didn’t work out and they moved on to hulk. I think it would have been insightful to get Vince’s feedback on the dusty situation instead of brushing it under the rug. I think they should have also interviewed some of those other territory owners or thier descendants get what they thought of Vince through their interactions instead of just the wrestlers that he stole.
