Jesse is rooting for the heels, he always has. Some people that commented don't know their history or probably aren't old enough to remember. Many probably weren't born yet.

People are weird. They weee complaining three hour raw was too long. Now a two hour special event is too long. A one hour wrestling show doesn’t make sense. The last time I remember them doing that was the Saturday morning shows when I was a kid, but those were also taped and likely condensed anyway. Two hours for an event like this is perfect. My only issue is it felt rushed. Cut it to four matches and allow extra time for an interview or one match to be a little longer. Or both. I do like the no BS approach and just moving forward, but it was a bit much. Also way too many commercials. If they do PiP again I just can’t sit through it.

For such a large venue, it had a similar effect to ECW One Night Stand for me. It's like seeing your favorite Rock band in an acoustic session at a smaller venue. It just has a more intimate feel to it. Seeing the same entry way from the late 80's / early 90's depicted on the LED boards around the curtain was a huge flashback to the house shows I went to in Utica NY. The turnbuckles, ropes, refs wearing the blue shirts, Jesse coming back. It all just had the right feel. I wish they'd keep this theming for all the SNME events. I really really do.

The two hour comment confuses me. People say a three hour raw is too long, but now a special event on a Saturday at two hours is also too long? I agree with Eric and one hour you just can’t do anything. You would chain from one match to another and that’s it. You can’t have any filler or side content at all. I really don’t understand why two hours is now too long. The show flew by and it still felt a little condensed at times, but I like that there was no wasted space.

Not enough Jesse, they should have had Jesse do commentary with Joe for the entire show. Pat is ok, but not as good as Jesse. It would have been a much better show with Jesse and Joe only on the commentary. When they finally put Jesse on to do commentary on the main event he was great, and Pat seemed out of place, like he did not know what to say or when to jump in. They sort of ruined it for me by not using Jesse for commentary on every match, when they said he was doing the show, that is what I thought we would get, not Pat and Joe.

As someone who has not consistently watched the product in 20+ years (so very much a casual viewer) my observations would be: 2hrs is better than 3 for my attention span, and it was better that the matches were kept short (I would have liked even more of a lean into nostalgia though, such as the method of having 'You know somethin' Mean Gene' twoshots). Formatting of commercials was awkward. I liked Jesse doing the heel commentator schtick. I just felt that there was no hook to drag me towards their main shows (doing their 'aftershow' heat on social media is senseless in that regard). Some botches with the ring work and a couple of guys did not look like they belonged in their segments (Balor, for example, obviously booked for the job as the small/bland guy working with two old-school big guys).

I liked the show. For the next one, I’d cut a match or two and add some interviews. Also, the main event lost me. They have Cole and Jesse telling the story of the ankle injury. Cody was selling it early in the match and then stopped so they could get their shit in. I would have preferred seeing Owens work the ankle and tell the story of Cody fighting through the injury. I didn’t need to see Cody cutters and disaster kicks. They didn’t make sense in the context of the match.

Predictable is not bad, all good stories deliver a desired result. The journey needs to be interesting, which WWE are getting right at the moment.

I know I can't be the only one that partially thought when Piper had Chelsea on her shoulder that Piper was going to drop her ala Batista dropping Orton in 2004. 2 hours is the perfect length for SNME. 1 Hour would not have worked. of course I always have to point out the elephant in the room, I didn't watch not one second of the show.... Why is that??? because they scrubbed Hogan out the beginning intro to a series he literally built... idgaf about how ppl feel about Terry since i'm not too hot on him myself but he IS SNME and he WAS the WWF and was the focal point of its ascension to its glory... so to scrub him out because of his obvious political leanings which is something not even that dbag vince would have done but to have Jessie there was a clear message and one I seen outright.... WWE is a JOKE Officially now and I get why I can't watch its modern interpretation of it....

I liked the clean finish but felt like aew show with only matches

Show was good and because the matches had to be shorter, they didn't do the 50 false finishes they always do in PLE matches. The finishers tended to win the match after only 1, which was a nice change of pace. I liked the more narrow entrance. It did add more energy to the entrance. Jesse is THE best color comentator in the history of wrestling bar non, so he is always awesome. The only match that fell flat was the US title match. Chelsea is a super star. Piper had really found her character and is awesome. And Michin was...there. Kind of a sloppy match but the finish was awesome. Chelsea is THE best women's wrestler overall on planet earth right now. Ripley is a better total package since she's a better worker, but Green is a phenom on the mic and charisma, and she's solid in the ring.

IMO: WWE’s production and graphics were great, as always. But also as always: too much non-selling, too much gymnastics, and too many false finishes to make any of the matches feel logical or like legitimate contests. Alas, such is the state of modern wrestling. Still leagues better than AEW (however, this is a very, very low bar).

You nailed it. I was hoping Triple H would start to change how matches are worked but nope. Bring in Bret and Arn and have them re-train the talent. They do have some wrestlers with charisma now, some that can talk too and look good, but too much gymnastics and lack of psychology in matches. I do think Gunther is an exception.

I'm not shocked. Life on the road doesn't leave every wrestler's kid in awe of their old man or the sport that kept him away from home.
