Starting from 1:11 and slow it down to .25x, you can tell he already has the solved cubes in the container and blocks off the bottom so that they don’t fall. Then he just pushes the mixed cubes behind the table. Should use better angles!

I agree with Simon. He messed up that Rubik's cube shake up bit, but recovered well. Did get boring after a while, not to say he isn't great, it's just unfortunate that we already had a great close up magician last year.

2:02 Look at the three cubes on the board and look at their position. You see the two back cubes are green/white and they are not sideways together! When he covers the cubes with his hand then the other cubes will be rotated on the board. The new cubes are not side by side and their cubes are blue and red! 😎

glad he still made it through despite all the mistakes here. He's really talented, and if you watch his version of this trick on asias got talent, its much better performed and done. Hopefully he doesnt have those messups again, either way, truly talented for him to recover and keep his compsure despite some shaky slight of hand moves, seemed like he was nervous or hadn't practiced as much as he should've leading up to this. Dudes still crazy talented though and its a great trick when performed flawlessly as he did in Asias got talent; hope he has a chance at the win this year and the rest of his performances are flawless

I love Eric, and I always get thrilled by each of his acts. But I don't know why this performance didn't bring me goosebumps, and was kind of boring, although it was so technical and amazing: Maybe lack of story, proper background music, and lack of dynamics. Just not good presentation of his genius.

Agreed. Usually his magic was poetic but this time it's missing that factor. His final presentation in Asia's Got Talent was so good it made me believe in magic. I remember Mat Franco also messed up a bit but his presentation was amazing the audience could accept it. Shin Lim also made a mistake in one of talk shows he was invited (I don't remember which talk show was it), but he recovered with his charisma & showmanship.

This magician is just amazing. Still preferred his first audition and felt this wasn't quite as slick as when he performed it on Asia's Got Talent. The slight of hand wasn't as smooth. This is splitting hairs though he is still fantastic. Nerves played a part I believe.

I think Eric was extra nervous which affected his performance but he recovered well. I agree with Julianne that he had nothing to be nervous about. Why is everyone complaining about him using the same acts? Shin did as well for the first rounds too. Plus not everyone saw Asia’s Got Talent so not everyone saw his acts.

I don’t think anyone understands what “Talent” means. Nor does anyone understand what close up magic is. I think close up magic demonstrated a lot of talent considering the time and effort put into sleight of hand. Also, watching magic online has more of an advantage since you can replay back as many times. Chill with the comments

Shin Lim performed the same tricks on Champions, so why is this more bashed on? And when people keep trying to expose his tricks, it’s obviously easier since you can just replay the video back. People say it’s “fake” but of course magic isn’t real. It’s a trick. But the trick itself and the sleight of hand put into the trick is true talent

I mean the other guys trick was soooo freakin easy it always has the same outcome and is basically a mathematical trick not really hard to do. I agree Eric maybe didnt have a good presentation in this one but the closeup argument just isnt working for me here just look at shin lim he won with closeup magic. Simons argument is always the same and that bores me not the closeup stuff

Last year Shin Lim did a close up magician all the time (I mean he's a close up magician for God's sake), he didn't talk too much but still has stage presence. Eric probably just nervous (unless he's pretending because he won Asia's Got Talent).
