When I first heard this song 40 years ago, I liked it but I didn't love it. Now with 40 more years of life experiences I can really appreciaate the simple,uncomplicated lyrics and their powerful messages. "It's all wrong, but it's alright" is genius. Thank you, Eric, for all these years of music.

The magical thing about this song is that it doesn't feel much personal to a lotta young people but with the course of life experiences, they realize that this song is super deep and honestly personal. For the comment below. The one who plays the piano is Billy Preston. He was also known as the 5th beatle becasue of playing the piano in many songs of "let it be" album. Although I am not sure, he passed away in 2006 or 2007.

Eric is one of my all time favs of all time.and guitarist also.Wonderful Tinight was the first song I learned to play.and it's always requested for me to sing also.Eric can play anything and make it sing so damn good

I tend to always prefer the original studio recording of most songs. BUT when you add Billy Preston's contribution via the Hammond B3 with Leslie Speaker you now have an added dimension. You can always tell when Billy is working his magic as he does here and with other artists like Ray Charles and the Beatles. RIP Billy. We miss you!
