Such a sad song...Eric Clapton wrote this song for his son who fell out of a window several floors up from his ex-wife’s home. He was on his way to pick up his son . He went into a very deep depression and finally he wrote this sad song. It’s such a beautiful song for his little boy who died from that tragic fall.

A song so close to my heart. We lost our fourth child to a problem during pregnancy and this song and its beautiful message helped me thru the pain of not knowing who he would have been and having to tell our three children what happened. This is so comforting to me I cant thank u enough. Much love from my heart to you and your families. And to those who have lost children before getting to see there newborn babies love to you as well.

I lost my nephew too on his way to school, his car hit a patch of ice and it terribly swayed hit a school bus. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the bus but his car burst into flames. A bystander tried to pull him off but no chance. What is left for us is his pair of doc martens. And this song really made us to move forward..Thanks Ralph for hearing this again.

Im hearing this song with tears. My first n beloved dog died 2 days ago. Feel still heartbroken and cry whenever I miss her. She had been living with me in 6 yrs and half year. TRIVIA: This was supposed to be the official theme song of the film "Through Night And Day". This phrase can be found on the song's lyrics "I find my way through night and day.." However, Eric Clapton didn't allow the song to recreate and use to another movie soundtrack (It was already used as theme song in the 1991 film, Rush). Thats why they find another tearjerking song, and ended up to I Will Be Here.
