I reside in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. From S. Chicago. I've known the likes of buddy, muddy, bb, willie smith. Personally since age of 8. We found this old boy on a riverboat. I asked him to come to open jam. We had every other week. When owner of Casey's Alley came down from Orlando. He did. He blew the roof off!. He since lost both of his legs. Car accident, among many other injuries. He's making a comeback. Rehabing in Ohio. By God I'm waiting for return. I use to tell him thee greatest guitarist living are Derrick Trucks, Warren Haynes, and you!. IN THAT ORDER!. JOHN ALLENDER IS!.........

Check out the version of Joe B's "The Ballot of John Henry" in which Eric jions him. It's actually performed on this ship. Absolutely insane. I've been playing for over 35 yrs and I've never heard such a tasty dual. Creativity, technique and uniqueness is at an all-time high for both guys. Joe was forced to bring his A-game and not phone in one of his typical 64th note soloes that has no soul. Truly, a great modern-day moment in guitar blues-rock history

Eric Johnson has made Eric and bonamassa the most diverse players today. I remember coming up, trying to learn all of srv licks and songs and then finding Johnson was a Texas blues player and friends of Stevie's and I tried to learn his stuff by ear, and it was so difficult that I gave up, I was an anti shredder, but now looking back at it, and listening to the prodigies grown up, that not many could absorb all those styles and mix them up, it was either one way or the other, and only select players can do that

I’ve invested maybe 14 hrs over the last year listening to Eric he has a rare organic quality where he can improvise over anything in his own way.I wish I could have unlocked that but the want isn’t always enough.Theres something inate in just a handful of players like him that music just flows through them not one note or phrase is ever contrived .Hope he’s around for a long time the world needs him

At the 9:45 mark, sitting here alone, in front of my computer, both my fists involuntarily shot straight up in the air. Before I knew it, they were just up there.
