What a strange upper joint at 0:47. Have seen this oboe played by a japanese oboist in Brahms violin concerto with Jansen here on youtube. As far as I know it is not Moennig but LF Del Sol. What is your opinion about it?

You're right 😉 It's a Ludwig Frank oboe. The bell is easy to identify. Moennig AM also exist in a mapple version "del sol". Very good and very very light oboes ! On the bottom of my page you can use Google Translate 😊 It's not perfect but give an idea 😉 About the broader top, the mapple is a soft wood, the density is less than ebony or cocobolo. It schrinks easily. The bulb is a kind of reinforcement.
