That’s my dream guitar. A set neck Mosrite. My Hallmark Custom ‘60 comes very very close and is easier to play than a Mosrite, but I still want a a ‘59/‘60 set neck Joe Maphis model Mosrite

I'm guessing you've never held one of these terrible instruments. If you think cheap guitars in this day and age suck, they were MUCH WORSE back when these were made. It's not like owning a 61 Strat.

@@J.C...it's the "aesthetic" bruh I think they're trash too lol. They have their own sound at least

@@J.C...Why are you putting a Mosrite in the same category as the cheaper Silvertones? That's like saying Rickenbacker is a $150 Squier. Though 60s Mosrites _did_ have thin fretboards. Mosrite never were in Sears Catalog (at least, not officially.) There were look-alikes there, starting in the early 70s. Those ones are the Univox Hi Flyer type guitars, and I'm not sure if they were illegally using Mosrite's likeness, or if they were somehow approved by Mosrite as long as the Mosrite name wasn't on the headstock. As mentioned earlier, Mosrite's 60s Guitars have thin fretboards. My 66 is 1.560" wide at the zero fret, but my 76 Mosrite is 1.750" at the zero fret. Other 70s models are about 1.650" at the zero fret, just a bit wider than a Fender. If anyone wants a more easily acquired Mosrite-ish guitar, they should go for a Hallmark model. Those are supposed to have slightly thinner fretboards than a Fender, but they're wider than the 60s originals. Also, on your bit with cheap starter guitars; I own a 65 Silvertone Acoustic, one that was specifically built by Harmony. The neck's awful wide and thick and it's not very comfortable for all kinds of playing, but it's still playable for simpler starting. Just. It's one that wasn't abused. Meanwhile, my Silvertone 1448 (built by Danelectro) has a very stupid headstock, but it's still very playable. Though I did crown its frets and cut the non-original saddle into 3 pieces so I could intonate it better.

@@J.C... if you are making a blanket statement about Mosrite guitars, you don't have a clue what you are talking about.

Decent video, but the company name was made by combining two names: "Moseley" ("Mos") and "Boatright" ("rite.") It's said as "Moe's Right," not "Moss Rite." That's my only criticism here, and it's minor - Mosrite's not the most well known company. The story is that when Semie was young, he was funded by one Reverend Boatright to buy wood shop machines to work with. So he incorporated the names together as a nod to Reverend Boatright, and possibly as part of a nod to his Christian Faith, too. Really, though - Semie's first guitar neck that he built when he was 13 happened to be a neck with a Cross inlaid in the headstock. I've seen photos of it on Facebook.

Wait wait wait. BB had a red Lucille??!! I don't think I've ever seen him use a red one. Hmmm
@101Volts10 ай бұрын
That was probably before he went in to a burning building to get his guitar back. He started using black ones after that.

So many guitar players are lost without a band specially without effects. He tried a few 15 seconds licks but… And he is my favorite player
@J.C... Жыл бұрын
So what are you saying here? His attempts sucked because he wasn't with a band?
@vintagepipesnightmares Жыл бұрын
@@J.C... yup. After two licks he looked lost. Without gain you really need to play chords and something that sounds like songs. Pentatonic runs won’t work without gain🤷♂️
