It's interesting to compare this performance with the other one he did of this. I never get tired of hearing him play. It's such a pleasure to hear his beautiful tone and phrasing, and his chord changes. He is such a great musician.

I can't seem to find Eric's version of this when he played on Austin City Limits, He used his Gibson SG and blew this out ,I think it was one of the best version's I ever heard. He played ACL a few times but I cant find any posts of that show.

I saw that too...I think about it alot..Unforgettable!!..I think the poor audio has alot to do with this not coming across as good as ACL..No dynamics in the audio

@bandslater awesome. Still if interested go check out "fresh cream" album. It opened my eyes to realizing that Ej's (lead tone) is not really unique at all. He uses Clapton's tone with some reverb and delay. And then he uses Hendrix's fuzz tone (which he now uses more than the former). His clean sound though is still the absolute cleanest, fattest, sound I've ever heard. It sounds like glass.

I used to have a bootleg of this whole concert. It was labeled as "austin city limits" but this was the concert for sure. Does anyone out there have the rest of the set, audio or video? He had great tunes like Cliffs of dover, pavillion, Good to me, etc.

My favorite version is still Jimi's at Monterey, with BB's next, and this right behind. All great versions of an awesome song

@z2153 Yeah since watching this I've seen Trower's version. I like it a little more than King's.

@bandslater lol. Based on your comment I went and checked out Joe Bonamassa. He sounds nothing like EJ. He sounds ALOT like old Clapton from the Cream days which is where EJ HEAVILY HEAVILY HEAVILY HEAVILY pulls his lead sound from.
