Eric probably won't see this but here's a tip for the future: always have your dry and wet ingredients separate, don't mix them all together at once otherwise your batter will be lumpy or the texture will be off. Also, you should cream the butter, sugar and eggs together with your extract/flavouring and then the flour and baking powder can go in! 👍🏼

I love these videos. And I mean, he kinda killed it if he really didn’t look at a recipe. Maybe like double the eggs (they’re why cakes rise) and another half cup of sugar (at least-some recipes I’ve made have equal sugar and flour) would have made it awesome. Also, I’m surprised he knows about the poke test but not that you should mix the wet ingredients, then the dry, then combine them all together. 😂

It worked! It probably had a little salty/metallic taste from one tsp too many of baking powder, and was more eggy than sweet, but the texture looked amazing considering you don't know anything about the techniques you left out. Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs one at a time, beating between. In another bowl - Stir salt and baking soda into flour. Add half dry ingredients to wet and beat. Add half milk and beat. Repeat. Then beat 2 min. Aside from proportions, that's all you missed! 👍💜🧁🎂🍰

1. Cream softenbutter and sugar first, add eggs until incorporated, milk(since using it. Low mixer Add sifted dry ingredients flour, salt, baking powder (tspn not tbspn), (cocoa powder making chocolate cake). There you go. 350F

I am amazed how good the cakes came out, I’d really love to know how it tasted with the sea salt in it, if it was regular salt then I wouldn’t be a little skeptical About the taste, but Eric loves us & wouldn’t lie to us, so I think the boy can cook/bake without a recipe Loki good forward to the new music and concerts.
