Eric Newby, Team USA Wheelchair Rugby | TBI Concussion Testimonial

Eric Newby, the Co-Captain of Team USA Wheelchair Rugby, has been a member of the national team since 2013. At 18, he suffered an injury that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Undeterred, he rebuilt his life and dedicated himself to wheelchair rugby.
Wheelchair rugby is a demanding full-contact sport that requires incredible skill and determination. Throughout his career, Eric has faced numerous concussions. In 2016, he experienced a particularly severe concussion that disrupted his sleep, allowing him only two hours of rest per night for years. This lack of sleep led to a difficult period in his life.
