Eric's a small town kid who has never done anything like this before, and the reason you have a first rehearsal is so that you know where the cameras are and the way the stage is (it will be different to his melodifestivalen one), it's not necessarily about the singing, it's about getting it right for the main one. So stop hating on something you haven't seen for real.

It all depends if the voting "public" are looking for a ballad to win this year or a more up-beat "dance" song. If more up tempo then Sweden, Russia or Malta could score highly. For a rehearsal that was a pretty solid run through.

@DannyBoy20802 It isn`t possible to judge the sound accurately from these clips, the sound that will be broadcast on Tuesday, next Thursday and Saturday will be a lot better than what a single camera + sound team can can get out of an arena that still is under construction. But I agree that this performances couldn`t exactly be compared to fireworks. The 2 performances (Manboy + Popular)I put on my Eric Saade 2010 + 2011 back to back video, had a lot more energy and life to them. But still time!

@Myriejj If you read between the lines then it wont be that bad! :S Most Pop song have bad lyric, but this song actully have a secound meaning to it... that you have to work hard to get were you want to! and be the best at what you like doing, he is just describing it in a schoolish kind of way, describing it as being popular and gettign the girl you want ^_^ The breaking of the glass means "breaking down the wall that is in the way of were you want to be/become" ^_^

I wish people would realise this is the 1st rehersal. Not the final performance. Eric was deliberately not focusing on the vocals that day due to a sore throat. I do totally agree though about the backing vocals. They need to be sorted quickly as they are letting Eric down. Yes, the lyrics wont win any awards but better than many Euro winners with ding dong lalala's diggy loo diggy lays!

@Booxeen It's hard to find that meaning in it. I see the 'working hard to get where you want' part, but why the popular-part? The sentence "I will be popular' makes this song annoying to me. And the same goes for the sentence 'my body wants you girl'. Everytime I listen to this song these 2 sentences keep bothering me. I keep listening it though, because I like the melody.

The people commenting here should really stop commenting about how bad it is! ITS ONLY HIS FIRST REHEARSAL! Not everything sounds perfect the first time around, that's why they have several rehearsals. This should in no way be representative of the final result, and it goes for every country! I'm sure that when its time for the real thing Eric will be amazing and blow us away! Besides, like all of the other representative's sound so great the first time! I think not!

I think this song could be a surprise tomorrow/Saturday. Sure, he's not the best singer, but worse than some of the contestants yesterday he can hardly be ^^ And his dancing is really good and the act is nice. And it's a really catchy song... Sweden was a winner for me, that was before seeing THIS! He was amazing live at the national finals, but this is horrific.. It'll probz still get top 10 but I think either the UK, Hungary or Estonia have the victory this year. I also think Switzerland and San Marino deserve to at least qaulify and do well in the final. But there's not enough of a buzz surrounding them..

@CaucasusBeauty he said that at the first rehearsal he only thinks about the cameras.... so he know exactly were they are at! :O And then next rehearsel, when he know all the cameras position, he focus on the singing and dancing! that is maybe why he don't sound as good? and the background singers... are changed, i don't think that the background singers are so good now :S
