The wind is always ablowin' here, in Kingman, Arizona. ... and I often fly when "there's too much wind!" ... My aircraft is a Chinese knock-off of something else... it's a standard 40-sized trainer. It was given to me, free, complete, except I had to add my own motor. I am the third owner. I made a few corrections and adjustments to it to get it to fly the way I like to fly. I am running a twenty-year-old O.S. 46FS with an APC 11-7 prop; that thing really MOVES!
This day, I should have gone home, already... but I wanted to keep flying in that gusting wind! During that landing, I was having trouble keeping the wings level and that crosswind was trying to blow the model into the fence... and it actually DID so, but... and it probably wasn't my fault... the plane was able to pivot on one wingtip and pull away to safety! ... I was as amazed as anybody!
HUGE thank you to David Schoeneman / @davidschoeneman3627 for catching this wild moment on video!
