Eric Serra sound effect with Yamaha A5000 sampler

The older I get and the more I dive into making music, I find that sometimes software just can't do the trick.
That's why I bought some old powerful gear to do some special jobs.
Here you can see the mighty Yamaha A5000 sampler in action. My first steps.

Frome a…what is it a tambourine? To that shivering “Cold War Bunker echo”. Wow. That effect made the entire gunbarrel intro.

This is awesome! Is there not a name for this other than Eric Serra sound? I just recently found out that Eric Serra not only scored one of my favorite movies (The 5th Element) but also Goldeneye on N64. Blew my mind that I never noticed or knew this before. This guy scored my childhood basically.

Yes! It's THE ultimate Eric Serra sound. Although it was used in different forms by other composers in the 90's as well.

I thought that it was originally from an E-MU Procussion.

Infinite One, found on the E-MU System which bears some resemblance to the original sound created by Eric Serra, was used for the game indeed. However, it's too low-fi for my purposes and Eric has gone on record explaining how he basically detuned and processed a tambourine sound.
