Oh hell no: that flat note at 30-32. I just cannot hear that tonight. I've heard this song to many times tonight to come across such a note.

People need to relax and enjoy the music for its beauty. People are singing it is not a recording that you are listening too. This kind of performance takes so much time and effort to prepare, and we need to value that.

For those that are saying the soloist was flat and making it sounded like she sucked, I would like to hear you do it. As I am on my journey to become a music educator, I have learned that most people who point out the obvious are only doing it because they can't do it as well. So for all those that say this sucks or that a high school can do it better, put up a video so we can all actually see that and stop running your mouths.

I'm visually impaired, and happen to have perfect pitch, and I can tell you for a fact that the soprano soloest was a quarter step flat. I noticed that the choir dropped slightly as the piece got near the end. I love this song anyway though.

In this age, we are more conditioned to the canned sound of studio recorded performances. A piece may be recorded in many takes before the "perfect" sound is achieved, or edited to put the best parts all together for a perfect blend. There's nothing wrong with that, it is simply another way to polish a performance, but it is not "real". I suppose you could compare a studio recording to blended scotch, where different batches are blended and balanced to achieve a certain flavour. Me? I like my single malt scotch because of its unique qualities. A live performance is always unique. It is of the moment; ephemeral. Tiny mistakes, minor variances, these are all due to the different circumstances and talent of each performer. So, for those that want to take pot shots at this recording, the choir, or the soprano soloist that slipped a tad, all I can say is you've missed the point of live performances. Its more than a little sad....

At 3:06 those amazing basses carry the entire chorus with the other parts floating above them at the most "perfect" low volume. That makes the basses sound even stronger. :')

@AviatorEvans - lol I sing in this choir actually and the guy is a friend of mine. We had this joke thing about the "kalida" and were singing "calima" instead - like this one guy in "Indiana Jones and the temple of doom" :-) But in this spot it looks like he had forgotten, that there is a camera around :-)

@Flozenfullpower Oh my goodness, that happens to me all of the time, almost letting out a choir joke in the middle of a performance. Will you be competing in the World Choir Games in Cincinnati this summer?

@AviatorEvans I know, I have sung this with our choir. I just meant the guy in 0:42 who was about to sing something different.

@gameking047 No one is saying that they can do it better. In fact I'm sure none of us could (that note isn't very high in the soprano range though). We all are simply agreeing that it sucks for the poor soloist who was...unfortunately flat. Maybe she was having a bad day; we all do. Calm thyself grasshopper, not everyone is as arrogant as you make them seem.
