I don't create or listen to the type of music you'll hear on this channel but I subscribe to Hainbach because he hears beauty where I hear noise and rhythm where I hear chaos and that's amazing to me. I love this channel!

I hope you are able to also do an overview of the Syntrx II. I love your perspective on instruments and your creative process and would love to see what you think of the second iteration of this machine.

Well Hainbach. FINALLY!! Someone made a video showcasing what this instrument can do. Been waiting for months. For months I tittered between getting it and not getting it because I couldn't see how good it was other Jean Michel Jarre endorsing it and Tuna The Cat staring at it unemotional. In any case I took a dive and got me one but then I began to wonder if I had made a mistake but your video has put all my fears to rest. It is worth every penny. Thank you a million for making this in depth video. I am now ultra excited to receive my Syntrx. : )

I'm so glad someone else thinks its oscillators sound like test equipment! I thought that the other day but attributed it to my being a newcomer to electronic instruments (though not to electronic music-especially early electronic music).

@HAINBACH, I just bought one mostly because of the shading it gets. That lets me know it’s perfect for my style of weird. Great tour of the pots and matrix!

IVCS3 may have warmed me up for this the same way the Ripplemaker app led to me getting the 0-Coast. Those variable voltages at 16:43 remind me of the colored pegs in on the VCS3 and iVCS3. After years of lusting after a working VCS3 this shows up... thanks for the inspiring review! Going to try filtering the 0-coast through iVCS3 for now...

Thanks sir. I can’t believe it, but I’m actually considering selling a bunch of stuff to fund this cool synth. It seems accessible enough, yet flexible enough still to provide years of exploration.
@hakonsoreide2 жыл бұрын
I think this synth does that. I was just watching this before reading the comments, and I was calculating in my head how many of my synths I would have to sell to buy one of these. I just sold a few as part of my New Year tidy, but I'd have to sell at least two more to justify this.

Can't wait for getting mine and compare it (at least soundlike) with my memories of the AKS we used to play (or tinker with?) in the early 80s. Tho, without any kbd or seq, it's more like a Putney or (considering the form factor) a simple Synthi A, but wearing a tuxedo...🤗

TheVimFuego I’m so happy someone mentioned that. I love that app. Crazy thing is it can print at 96 kHz if you override the apple sound card. Pretty darn good quality imo. I spent many hours at the beach playing with that thing, and it is so addictive.

THIS is the video I’ve been waiting for. In theory, I love the idea of this synth, but I’m not 100% on it. I’m wondering how it will fit on my tracks with my mostly more “conventional” Moog and Sequential gear. I do have an Erica DB-01 and love it.

Very nice, was waiting for you making a video on this synth. Does it make an impression of "inspiration machine", when you get unexpected but lovely results? Or does it require a lot of learning to get good sound out of it?
@Hainbach4 жыл бұрын
I think I answered that by making an album with it in four weeks 😄. Not a lot of learning to make it sing, it just sounds good from the start. But lot of room to get good at it

When you say, “it’s not recommended on bass if you want to go on vinyl later on” do you mean that it brings too much low end into the mix for the final vinyl master?

@SUPAMURDA4 жыл бұрын
hey hainbach, erica uses an aggressive polivoks filter on a lot of their other products that doesn't lose bass when you add resonance. does this filter lose bass like a more traditional moog filter? sounds like it did, but you only swept it for a moment. my syntrx should be shipping monday-ish and i've never been more excited over a piece of gear.
@scramblesthedeathdealer4 жыл бұрын
Now I really wanna dust off my Eurorack case and fire up my Polivoks VCF, WMD Geiger Counter, etc...

There is bit of bass loss with upped resonance.

Thank you for doing this! I have a SYNTRX on order and this makes me look forward to it even more. Question: do you find the filter frequency and response controls a little quirky? For example - at 11:27 the filter seems to be completely closed with the freq knob at about 11 o clock. And I am not sure I hear it self oscillate at all. The response control seems to have a lot of travel before it sounds resonant at about 4 or 5 o clock. Thanks!
@Hainbach4 жыл бұрын
Yes, the filter reaction seems to be tied to the volume you put in - you can get different behaviour of depending on what comes in. I haven’t figured it out 100% yet.

Typical, a synth that's about as close to my 'holy grail' synth as you can get. Without it being prohibitively expensive. I've honestly wanted something similar to what EMS used to manufacture since the mid to late 80's. And it arrives at a time when my finances have never been as stretched, when I'm struggling just to maintain a roof over my head and food in the fridge. I just hope Erica Synths aren't making this a limited, never to be repeated run.🤔 Would my other half notice that the car has suddenly dissappeared I wonder? 🤔How much would a teenage boy be worth on the open market? 😆 (Not much if they knew how much it cost to feed him.)

first demo that doesn't sound completely horrid but I feel like I'm taking crazy pills and the only one who thinks this synth is incredibly underwhelming sounding. Seems like people are listening with their eyes and are just excited because they see something that kinda looks like a synthi, but sounds nothing remotely in a similar league.
