Erica, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the time you took to experiment and find a way to use our pigments successfully in a Dutch pour!!! Beautiful, Erica! You’ve got Kanella madly excited about this - she can’t keep still! Bless you for showing us how to mix primary elements. I use mostly Pebeo mixed with PVA glue. Seems to be ok. Sometimes I add a bit of dragonfly glaze to one or two of the colours; that’s always fun! I’m in Wiltshire England so not too far from you in N. Ireland. Love & hugs xx

Firstly your Dutch pours using the primary elements are fantastic and the colours are so vibrant and glossy. Thanks for your information on mixing the PE it was extremely helpful as I have heard conflicting reports about them and even though I have a set, I’ve been reluctant to use them. This was an extremely informative video and your Dutch pours were absolutely gorgeous. That Indian Spice is amazing. I've also been experimenting with adding something to the paint in a Dutch pour, in conjunction with water, to use less paint & make it stretch further. My favourite mix is floetrol/Elmers Glue All and Liquitex gloss medium, but I'm still working out the ratios. Too much glue and it becomes rubbery and doesn't glide properly, but too much gloss medium and you don't get the cells. It's a toughie. Also, just to add a big thank you for filling my order for Colorarte products - it was well packaged, arrived very quickly and the surprise gift was a lovely thought. I'm saving up to buy some more Colorarte goodies from you in the future 😁♥️♥️

How come you didn't use the polypour instead of the gel? Sorry if you've answered this already. Also have you tried any other micas with this gel to make dutch pours. I bought some micas from a gal in australia when she went out of business and I was thinking maybe they could do what your primary elements are doing.

In case Erica doesn't get to this, yes you definitely can, if you're talking about blooms. In fact any colour really as long as you can get the consistency right and it's not overly gassy.

Tape the backs before you pour. I like to varnish with a coat of resin. Watch some videos on this. I don't have any as I'm new to varnishing with resin but Tammy Anderson Art has a great video on this!!!

Will a primary element pigment dissolve when added directly into a semi transparent acrylic paint? I’m assuming it wouldn’t work in opaque because it would mute and cover its sparkle

Depending on how much paint you add. You will loose the true colour of the primary Elements. I like to add some of the "bling it sparkles" (check them out the colourarte website) to my tube paints sometimes to make a shimmery colour! Sometimes I add the green sparkle to my golden Phthalo Turquoise.... it is stunning! 😍

I have never used the golden fluid. I plan to get some at some point. Dying to try them. I would say give it a go on a small scale like an 8 inch canvas and see how it goes. I will most definitely try it out when I get some! ❤

I think you get that poor result of your base paint mixed with Floetrol, because of the Amsterdam paint, it happen to me... the colours on top laced differently...and smaller...Try a different brand for base...
