Remember when Robert almost killed Paddy and Robert and Aaron had two episodes locked in a lodge, talking about their grievances. And now we have James who almost killed Mercedes and James and John Paul have two MINUTES locked in a basement to talk about their feelings... Maybe not the fairest comparison (especially since John Paul and James did have to get out of there as quickly as possible ofc) but I am really missing the depth in Hollyoaks lately. I do not need another spectacle like a "devil's dinner party" and another unnecessary dead. It would have been way more interesting to see Liam eventually work through all this grief! I think killing a character is such an easy way to end a storyline, they should have tried harder! But instead of complaining I should probably just accept the way Hollyoaks is at the moment and watch other soaps for now. I will keep an eye out for the new John Paul love interest storyline tho, hopefully they will make it a slow burn and restore some of the faith I had for this show. Thank you so much for uploading!

The truth isn`t out. Liam held a gun when the accusation was made. If James and Grace denies having shot Mercedes, and says they just humored Liam so no one should be shot, what prove would there be against them? Grace is the only other with a key to the Loft, so I assume she will be deleting the evidence from the CCTV before the police will have a chance to view it.

That was sooooo unexpected, wasn`t it. How many times, with how many different characters, and just a few twists to type of death and circumstances haven`t I seen this very same episode before. I have frankly lost count. But it is Nathan out the window, Sid`s dad off the cliff, Neeta`s death and a long string of others over the years, yet again. This whole SL has been weird and too out there to be able to relate to. Pleased it finally is over, but disappointed Jude Monk McGowan will no longer be included in the cast - IF Liam is dead, that is (in Hollyoaks you can never be quite sure, which is annoying frankly). Angled a little differently, his character could have been great. With a lot more depth to both his SLs and personality, instead of being just another cartoon monster character with little attachment to real life and real types of people. He could have been a different type of abuse victim than Brody and Ollie: someone who felt forced to be with every female who would have him, to cover up he also liked guys, or to try to prove to both himself and the world he was a ladies man. Or he could have been someone who after the death of the love of his life and his child, used sex - any kind of sex - to help him stop thinking about what he lost. Instead of this ridiculous revenge against all these characters, he could have put as much energy and inventiveness trying to win back James. That would have made more sense than this nonsense. He could after Jesse`s death have risen to the responsibility of becoming a father to Iona, and that way help them coping with the loss of Jesse. There are so many angles and developments the character of Liam could have had which would have been both interesting and entertaining, if done the right way. Sad the character was written out this way.

They haven`t allowed him to grow. He is supposed to be among the smartest and best educated people in the village (doesn`t take that much, true), and now he is a deputy head. One should think he would have taken some of the skills in sensing and handling different types of people from everyday school life, Nancy certainly has, and brought it also into his personal life. But no, he has to be TOLD James has shot someone before realizing what kind of psychopath James is. But his sister, he is able to read and help in a snap. Very believable. But the way JP was able to just finish with James like this, I suspect he could be having someone in spare, and this was just a neat excuse for him to get out of his friends with benefits arrangement with James, so he would be better suited for his new relationship/crush. I don`t know if it was wishful thinking, or something they had read in spoilers, but back when JP returned some people seemed to be under the impression George Kiss was going to be JP`s new love interest. If it is not him, it would be interesting - because Nancy and JP are friends - if it had been Kyle, and if so, that might be what Kyle was thinking of when he said to Darren: "They don`t need to know everything about us." Referring to wives and girlfriends. It is not difficult, it you try, to appear interesting or cool. A friend of mine who is a lawyer has this trick to give interviews while walking, and only from his best side. If the reporter asks him questions he doesn`t want to answer, he just overhears them - pretends to be in a hurry, and walks quickly away. But if he like the question, he stops, pretends to be thinking and to have been placed in a really difficult position - the reporter feels dead proud of him/herself, withe the other journalists looking on in envy - than my friend delivers the answer we have prepared in advance, but which the journalists believes he has been pushed for, And when they start their follow up questions, he hurries away, making excuses he really have to go. As a he result him walking and looking busy, coming up with a dead clever answer of great help to his client on the spot, is the impression people form themselves when watching it on the news - and that one quote is the one all the papers have to print, cause that is all he has said on the matter. But just because he walks when he talks to reporters, he has the control over them, not the other way around. As a result the impression people get of him is that he is dead clever, and is also one of the most requested lawyers in the country. He is certainly not an idiot, far from it. But without a team behind him, he wouldn`t have won a case. He is just the puppet which is put on stage. There is a team of lawyers, a fashion expert, a psychologist and a professor in semantics which decides how he is going to present both himself and his arguments from case to case, and a famous tv personality who has thought him to stand, walk, where the place his eyes, how and when to move his head and more to come across as trustworthy and likable. Soaps are doing exactly the same, and more. The reason JP comes across as more of a bore is that he is presented differently than say James or Warren. Jamie Lomas, when playing Warren, more barks than speaks his lines, giving the impression of being tough, no body can mess with him and to be strong and quick to act. James, on the other hand, appears cool, calm, confident and intelligent (despite playing one of the most moronic tv lawyers ever - he is only saved by the fact most viewers knows even less about the criminal law and police procedures and routines than the character does) by speaking slow in a low, but medium deep, voice, creating the impression everything he says is important and well thought out. And since he often includes some sarcasms you don`t want to miss, you automatically listen very carefully when he is on screen, not to miss them. Because of this your brain identify both James and Warren as cool, and someone you look up to, cause they either appear stronger or tougher, or smarter and funnier, than yourself. Of the same reason you feel JP to be less than yourself, cause since he neither appear tougher or funnier, than yourself, you look down on him as being boring. How you perceive someone says a lot more about you, than what it does about the person/character in question. If Hollyoaks wanted - and James Sutton wanted - they could have changed your perception of JP in a snap. Just a little bit of adjustment of the light and camera angle, how and where JP placed his eyes, lifted his shoulders more and walked with a little more confidence, and you would have formed yourself a completely different impression of him. It is all in the presentation and how it is perceived. Had they had a few extras look twice at JP meeting him in a door and so, similar to Nancy when she first met PC George Kiss, your subconscious would have told you JP was sexy as F too (cause why else would they be looking at him like that, your subconscious would have concluded, and informed your brain, that is what a hot man looks like. Take Romeo as an example. For a long time after Lily`s death he was just James more intelligent son. Than the the idea of pairing him with Celine was born, and to make him appear a sexy young stud so the viewers would get more impression of him being a man, than a boy, they piled on with scenes showing Romeo shirtless or even in underwear. Totally the opposite with Brody. Now that they are trying to sell him as a dad, it is sweater and jumper time. Gone are the t-shirts and singlets he used to seemingly wear all year round, and the colors also has been toned down for that character. Probably to set him up as a contrast to Liberty`s more colorful and childish style, by looking more sensible and mature. Particularly in the age with leaders like Trump, it is important not to be overruled by our subconscious, but looking and listening to what is, and not just take for granted what is claimed to be. Cause our subconscious will fool us, if someone sounds and look confident and convinced, we will believe them - unless we are aware of how gullible our subconscious can be, and train our active brain parts to be smarter. Soaps works excellent for that purpose. Since they use emotional tricks to create sympathy for some characters, and hate against others. Recognize those tricks in a soap, and you have greater chance to also do so in real life.

This writing is kinda losing its touch! Liam didn’t deserve any of this, all those characters did wrong! Yes Liam went too far this time but can you blame him? How could grace just let his hand go? This whole episode doesn’t make any sense! Liam should play the video footage to sylver and John Paul and let them go confronting James and grace, let the rest of them fighting each other and he can just enjoy the show! What better revenge to see all of them falling apart!! Now he’s just gone like that! This is getting boring! If sylver and Mercedes getting back so as John Paul and James this will be really boring to watch anymore!!

The show struggle to keep their viewers interested and not losing them, so it´s surprising what kind of decisions they make but if actors want to go there is nothing they can do.

Mercedes gets away with everything she does to people! Eva wasn’t pregnant dec thrope made that up to try get grace go prison! Eva almost killed esther that’s why she killed Eva. She 50% shot mercy Bc she hit her paralyzed her for months! Mercedes gets away with everything! Grace is good person! She just rough life and a lot people hurt her! The only good things she really had Trevor,Curtis! Once Trevor was murdered nico on her wedding day! Then Slyver came life she finally happy! Mercedes want ruin life by go police! Legally Grace is far from innocent. She not only planned and shot Eva Falco in a public train, endangering eventual others in the train, plus people on the outside, should a bullet go through a window, or similar, after having hunted for Eva for weeks. And Eva was pregnant, that was the news she had planned to tell Liam after he got back with their coffees. It would have been impossible for D.I. Thorpe to make up a pregnancy. As a murder victim Eva Falco would have been given a post mortem, and it would reveal she was pregnant. That wouldn`t have been possible to fake, cause not only the forensic examiner conducting the autopsy, but the laboratory who analyzed the blood samples would have revealed as much in their reports to the police/CPS and in court when testifying. And since DNA from both the dead baby and the dead mother would have been checked, to find out who the father was and to make sure the baby was not a surrogate baby, it would have been absolutely impossible to fake that baby, since that required Eva to have had another baby not fully developed who both had Liam as a father, Eva as a mother, and who was killed at the same age as the baby Liam would have become the father of. Thorpe could NOT have lied about something like that, too many officials would have known, and it also would have been revealed through the photos taken during the autopsy. It would also have cost Thorpe his job, at least, had he lied about something like that. In court people are not judged based on whether or not they are a good person, but as a result of the actual acts and crimes the court finds them guilty of. The difference between what Eva Falco did when Esther was shot, and what Grace did, is that Eva Falco was pointing the gun at her uncle, Jack Osborne, when Grace and O.B. without a plan stormed into the room the Osbornes were held hostage. When Esther saw Grace, she ran towards her, and was hit by the bullet that escaped from Eva Falco`s gun. Off course, the fact Eva Falco had the Osbornes on gunpoint at that moment, means she is legally guilty of having shot Esther. But that still doesn`t give Grace the right to kill her. And since Esther was shot because she saw Grace, and ran towards her, from a moral point of view I will claim Grace is just as guilty of Esther being shot, as Eva Falco. Since the confusion that led to the shot being accidentally fired, likely would not have happened, had not Grace and O.B. stormed in without a plan. Eva Falco accidentally shot Esther - Grace both planned, hunted - and when she found Eva Falco executed her and her unborn child, and did so so recklessly it exposed innocent people - if they had been on the train, or on the platform outside (something Grace should have seen as a possibility when she planned the killing) - to potential lethal danger. Something Grace didn`t care about. Cause had she, she would never have killed Eva Falco where and how she did. Therefore I can not agree with your claim Grace is innocent, nor that she is a particular good person. She is ruthless, violent and vindictive, and represents a great threat to other people with her violent behavior, whether she considers them enemies, or they are innocent bystanders. But I must agree with you Mercedes has gotten away with a lot. Too much for me to try be more specific. But the hit and run of Grace, she would have been unlikely of being convicted for, since she ran down many traffic bollards before hitting Grace, which together with the fact Grace was able to read the number plate of Harry`s Alfa, proves Mercedes stopped immediately after the accident. She could therefore not have been accused of having left the scene of an accident, since the fact she stopped proved the opposite. But since she also had ran down all the bollards, and they were not damaged, just pushed about, it would be tough for the prosecution to prove she knew she had ran down Grace. Far more likely she drove away believing she only had hit the bollards, than that she would have stopped, and then left, had she realized she had driven down Grace.
