This represents Eric Clapton’s peak playing to my ear. It’s so clean! It’s precise with ridiculous speed and impossible pitch perfect bends. But most importantly, the emotion is powerfully conveyed. It’s all played with seemingly no effort. Amazing!

In my humble opinion.. he was in top form during the "Nothing But The Blues" tour. 1994 & 1995 Such passion he has for those old blues numbers. He really poured his heart & soul into those performances.

Any chance someone knows the night this was performed at the Hall ? I believe it was a 1991 show based on a different bootleg recording I have. Just a wonderful concerto. This version is more electric and less orchestral.

I love erics playing usually, but this sounds like noodling with no hook, no motif. He has done better before.

I love most of Clapton's recordings but this...not so much. I've felt this way when I heard the bootleg decades ago and still feel the same nowadays; it sounds like endless, pointless noodling.

Sounds like endless noodling? Because it's an orchestral piece! not your typical pop or rock song arrangement where you get your 4 chords with the Intro, Chorus and Bridge.
