That single take approach was just... Intense, I was looking for the right word. I'm down for more videos like this, so cool.

The whole setting sequence followed by the shots if everyone trying the start over and over again is some of the most intense and best bouldering footage I have seen. The music is just perfect.

some ideas for setting and climbing challenges: 1- get everyone in the video to set 1 hold for the problem but they have to do it alone in the room so they cant talk to anyone else 2- game of guess the grade 3- set a crack problem 4- set a problem that is intended to be climbed upside down and bat hang on the top hold 5- get one person to set the first and last hold then another person to fill in between but they are limited on the type of hold(s) they can use 6- set a problem that has to be climbed blindfolded 7- set a problem that only uses one type of hold 8- set a long but relatively easy problem that everyone competes on to get the best time 9- see who can do the biggest dyno 10- 2v2 or 3v3 tag team race where teams have to decide who does which problem in a set of 2 or 3 problems and the next person has to wait for the previous person to finish before they start climbing and see which team has the best time 11- get nikken and julia to set two different problems and after climbing, get everyone to guess who set which problem. if they get it wrong they have to do a punishment like pushups or some other type of exercise 12- start with setting 2x-3x times the amount of normal holds on a wall and every time someone tops out they get to pick one hold to take off the wall. once someone falls they are out. last 2 people get unlimited attempts to decide the winner. (first and last holds cant be taken off)

Style point challenge - set several boulders that aren't too difficult but allow for significant movement variability, so each climber can express their skills, and creative movement. Points will be awarded not JUST by whether they send, but by how well the boulder was climbed, based on several factors: difficulty of movement originality of movement attempts to top (maybe some other criteria you can think of?) The scoring will be done by a panel of judges (maybe peers, or another group of non-participants).
@julianshowalter70012 жыл бұрын
Can each member set their dream boulder with as much time as they need (don't let the other members see this happen), Then everyone tries each other's boulders and reveal who set each boulder in the end? Just a game of "guess who made the boulder" and everyone gets to talk about what made the boulder so great authentically without biases. Lots of potential for trying to fake out the other members and just have a great time with acting.

Do a collab route set where one setter is blindfolded and picking the holds one at a time and the other setter is placing them on the wall. The idea being the person picking the holds has no idea what the route looks like and the person placing the holds has no idea what hold they're getting next.
@patricklachance59522 жыл бұрын
That was a dope challenge! I love the idea. Random collab challenge idea: No communication between the setters, they each trade off putting up one hold at a time. See where the problem goes.

Setting challenge idea - set a roughly 7 - 10 move problem where every hold has to be smaller than the one before it (or can go the other way around, every hold has to be larger than the one before but that's probably more problematic to set a good problem)

Collab challenge, where each one gets 1 minute to set at a time, and has to go away while the other sets 1 minute. Go back and forth, without communication, and continue with whatever the otherone has set after you. Could be a group challenge also, everyone gets 1 minute, and see what comes out of it.
@Jagknorr2 жыл бұрын
The single take was very cool! Youve done similar takes with Nikkens other setting challenges, i feel (and they were also awesome). Do more of those shots when you do that type of challenge. Why not? 🤷♂️ The rapid fire attempts was hilarious from the crew. It kind of worked though! But maybe that bit needs to slow down a smidge. The music was frantic and quick and it matched very well ! 👍

It could be fun if one sets a hold and the next one sets the other hold and so on until the top. It would be even funnier if the two setters were not authorized to speak so they would need to understand each other’s intentions The only drawback is that it may take a little bit more time to set! Anyway, great video as usual 👌
