DUDE! Love to see you mentioned Destiny of an Emperor. It's always been one of my favorites to this day! The modding community has made quite a few hacks for it where you can play the game from other kingdoms sides among other rulerss as well, like Yuan Shao for example.

I bought Magna Carta on the release day because I really liked the art style, and I liked the battle system from the previews,....But I couldn't finish the game until now because I was stuck on a boss because I couldn't understand the mechanism of the battle.😅

I never knew Riviera was on Wonderswan, thats a pretty cool deep cut. Princess Minerva I've literally never heard of I'm sure because of its Japanese only nature, thanks for bringing that to my attention. Destiny of an Emperor being made by Capcom was a huge reason that game is as good as it is. Would love to see them try something else with it, though thats incredibly unlikely.

I played Mystic Chronicles some years ago on my Vita and really enjoyed it. Good story. I've also played Hercules and Riviera though I struggled with Riviera and had a hard time understanding it. I should try it again as I have many more types of JRPGs under my belt now. I have it somewhere. I still play on my retro handhelds especially my Vita and really love it though it takes me a few minutes to adjust to the graphics again. Thanks for the reminders Erick!

Metal max xeno and reborn are both good games its just easier for replays on reborn than the original

I really enjoyed the Evolution games on Dreamcast. They were pretty short, but a lot of fun. I'd love to see them brought back.

From the bottom of my heart I truly appreciate that you Erick included shadow hearts from the new world, I love both covenant is excellent but this one has the better and one of the most fun battle systems I had ever experienced in a long time, the stock system predates the brave and default system and is basically very similar, you can do devastating combos and no joke you can one shot almost every boss not even need to be high leveled, just the right combinations of skills,magic and exploit weaknesses but if you fail boss will get more turns and do the same to you, the reward of doing it right is so addictive that even after finished the game 100% more than 20 times I still enjoy the game like for the first time, I absolutely recommends this game to all the people who saw this video

Random encounters will always be a pro in my book. I almost never find a game with touch-encounters where you level up naturally, enemies usually are easy to circumvent, therefore all leveling is INTENTIONAL GRINDING. Random encounters make the process natural, and will usually level you up appropriately if you thoroughly explore or complete side content. The closest touch encounters usually get to remedy this is if you need to farm enemies to craft gear, so you have a reason to fight other than exp... or if the game uses set enemies instead of infinitely spawning enemies, and is balanced around you fighting every encounter on a map once.

Metal Max Xeno is in PS vita too, I'm playing it there, but it's fan translated. Edit: Blue Reflection(the first) is in vita too, fan translated, but the fps aren't good in this.

Shadow Hearts 3 being hidden? Really? It's the only one I really played. But where the heck is that a comedy? The story is so tragic (won't spoil it) but the final boss battle made me cry really hard. Well, the OST during that battle added to it.

Metal Max Xeno looks awesome.. A shame that I missed out on this game. And yes, anyone who doesn't own the original now is unable to get it. They removed it from stores and replaced it with the inferior "reborn" version which essentially butchered the game completely. So you're going to show us this game... But we can't get it... Unless you have a way to?

Imo , Metal max xeno was meh, but the reborn version is better. It's just an open world go forth and do things grind fest. But feels more like the older games instead of locking u into a story path

PS5 has no exclusives, so no point making a PS5 video. Maybe PS4 but even then it'd be difficult to scrounge up 10 exclusive turn-based JRPGs that are any good.
