I LOVE the long videos! Yes, I downloaded it to study the technical details later. But... I'm frankly not following you two because of the technical details. Your images are the first thing that drew me to your work, and that's probably as it should be. Soon after that, I started to discover more about your backgrounds, personalities, interaction, playfullness, creativity, attention to detail, and most impressive of all, the amount of effort (and suffering at times!) you spend... from the planning stages to the finished product. This video is a record of all those qualities and more. Excellent!

I found your photo on 500px and followed your BTS link without knowing what was coming up. I think that not only the final product is exquisite but I was amazed by your focus and perseverance which can only be translate as true love for your craft! Please please never stop this magical art that you create! Cheers from Greece!

Watching this right! Loving every minute of it! You two work great together and I am enjoying the experimentation with settings and various tube setups & flash outputs. I'm so excited to try this! I'm sure with the model's background in dance and yoga she can hold really still but having said that, 8-second exposure seems like the subject would be slightly blurry. Any advice or Pro tips?

thanks Larry! The easiest trick is to have your model sitting on the floor. That's a good way to start and still have a sharp image :) Let me know when you have something to share with us

Super video and packed with information! I was waiting to hear about the use of an intervalometer for the star trails and learned about using the burst mode instead. I'll have to try that! Have you tried using another remote like the Impact PowerSync16-80 so you don't have to keep the button down on the remote?
@Ericpare4 жыл бұрын
thanks Andrea! I've been using the 16-80 for way too long. It's been very painful working with this one outdoors. It has many problems... and yes, I tried 8 units. I still use them, but in the studio only (to trigger my smoke machine and/or my strobes lol). It was not a problem for me to keep the button pressed every 30 seconds or so. I prefer to do this than to carry another piece of equipment (I have way too many things in my bag!! hehehe)
@andreaboyle94354 жыл бұрын
@@Ericpare I totally get the overload of equipment issue. I've had some issues with the unit as well, but sorry to hear that you had to hold an alternative down for so long...

Hi Eric, first of all thank you for the great tutorial. I have a slight question about the camera setting you shared. When you say MW 1000km and 11/60min, what does it really mean? Thanks!
@EricPare132 жыл бұрын
Hey Timothy! These are not kilometers per hour, but lumens (lm). MW 1000lm = MilkyWhite tube using a 1000 lumens flashlight. 11/60 refer to the minute 11 out of a 60 minutes blue hour. I explain everything here: lightpaintingtubes.com/news/camera-settings-for-tube-light-painting-tutorial

@@Ericpare Thanks for the quick response! This is an awesome technique that your doing and I'm just trying to wrap my head around it to understand how it's done. So when you show the picture at 19:09 secs have you tweaked that pic with Photoshop or other photo manipulation software to get that shot?

@@artist1303 I do some minor editing, but the idea is to get as close as possible to the final image straight from the camera (that's what I teach) :) This is another one you might like: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m17Mn5t9fKqSrJY (about camera settings) And the main tutorials can be found here: lightpaintingtubes.com/tutorials thanks :D
