Wild. When I first started watching Eric I would have hated this video because I just didn't understand very simple chess basics. Now it's my favorite format.

For the longest time I used to call bullet players crazy. Now I get it, I can pretty much keep up with what's going on but it's still not for me playing wise

At 7:21 Black can ‘oh no my queen’ and take the rook on e1, the h-pawn is unstoppable
@spindoctor638511 ай бұрын
White can move the queen to h3 with check and then pick up the pawn. If black wastes one more move then the queen can get to h1 to block it either via f3 or c1 depending on what black plays.
@remysmets11 ай бұрын
@@spindoctor6385there is a pawn on f3, unless the queen can suddenly jump over its own pawns the queen cannot get to h3
@spindoctor638511 ай бұрын
@@remysmets That pawn takes the queen that is sacrificed. No need to jump anything.
@remysmets11 ай бұрын
@@spindoctor6385ah there is a little confusion. I meant to sac the queen when the rook is on e1, as you can read in my original comment, not when the rook is on e4.
@spindoctor638511 ай бұрын
@@remysmets Oh ok, the pawn can make it in that case but gets taken as soon as it queens, leaving white with a queen Vs rook. That is why I went with the scenario that related to the time stamp as it is a little more complicated.

Eric should mention this channel on his main channel more often. I had no idea it existed, I watch most of his content (apart from "shorts")

Let’s Gooooo! Some of my favorite games Eric plays are on here. I think if he can combine a bit of this aggression with his meticulousness and cautiousness. He’s gonna get GM one day. I do think this is the skill that he can improve on most. You are amazing Eric!
@dallinreynoso124311 ай бұрын
And the reason I think that is just sometimes Eric misses opportunities that he really could capitalize on but he sits too long thinking and talks himself out of his intuitive thought, which often turns out to be a good move, and he can spend more time on more difficult positions.

@@dallinreynoso1243could you give specific examples of Eric missing tactics? I feel like that’s one of the strengths of his game that’s GM level already.
