Watching Eric play drives me insane sometimes. He'll be up a minute on the clock, and then he'll stare at a position until he has 2 seconds left and be stuck playing the rest of the game on increment.

I’ll be visiting with my father and throw on some Eric video… the number of times my father (who is by no means a chess expert) is screaming at the TV “MOOOVE” or “HES GONNA LOSE ON TIME” as his body tenses up… heard the occasional expletive name-call which to this day makes me laugh, just knowing he’s just watching Eric like it’s the Super Bowl when Eric is the gentlest KZbinr I know LOL

ive not wached this video yet but another infuriating thing is that in a completely winning position , where hes barely facing an attack and is up tons of material, he goes for something complicated and calculates for so long, and ends up nlundering in time trouble
@niranjanrajesh105810 ай бұрын
@birds5412 are you dumb? I love Eric and watch every blitz and bullet tiled arena on this channel. Infuriating means that it gets annoying at that point. That doesnt mean you despise everything about them, similar to how your partner may do a certain thing regularly that pisses you off, but you still love them..

@birds5412 What does that even mean? Like somehow he's not letting Eric "calculate in peace"? 😆

Perfect audio levels in this video Eric Rosen. Just with this setup letters and numbers (files / ranks) are not visible.

You're close.. Danya's win percentage against you is 84.85%, if you don't count the draw. Don't know how to put that into the calculation. Edit: Found a calculator that can calculate draws also, so with draws it becomes 83.82%. Almost 20% win rate is good in my opinion, since he's so much higher rated than you!

offhand observation since I don’t watch Rosen much, seems like a main weakness of his is slow calculation, maybe he can’t visualize very well, to some extent that’s just innate, i can’t see a board in my head I can barely visualize a 2x2 or 3x3 square of pieces, I can see a blurry 8x8 board but not recognize relations of piece placement etc like I wouldn’t be able to see a fork unless I was specifically focusing on a 3x3 square
@dax425810 ай бұрын
@@archsys307 slow calculation is not the reason he is not a GM 😆
@joeb414210 ай бұрын
@@archsys307 If you see him playing Puzzle Rush or in an endgame with 5 seconds left he is lightening fast. His pattern recognition and instincts are elite. He often makes the calculation that, at critical points in the game, it is better for him to spend some time analyzing the position. More often than not his judgment is correct but it leaves his viewers with a few more gray hairs.
