Yes, it is difficult to take the lcd screen off. you have to take off the phone from back side, because connector of lcd screen flex in the backside.

From reading through the comments I understand that the replacement screen your company provides is OEM but not as bright as the original. Also after the install the phone will no longer be waterproof because it will be missing the waterproof tape for the earpiece. If you do not offer a replacement for this, do you know where I can acquire it?

So we recommend you to replace the LCD with digitizer touch screen replacement part. BTW, this is a Sony Xperia Z3 video, which is not compatible with Xperia Z3 Compact. Yeah, it's just extremely expensive for a simple lcd-display with touch. And before that part reaches my address in europe i will have to pay shipping and very expensive european VAT, so it will probably hit 200$ before it's in my hands. And i pay 50% tax here in Denmark, can you believe that?!? So i will have to make 400$ before i get the 200$ to spend on this ;-) :-P For many other phones these complete touch-displays goes for 20-40$. I did manage to find the digitizer touch-screen part for only 30-40$ + shipping, so i'm guessing that it is possible to seperate the two and reassemble them, since they're selling the part without lcd. But i haven't been able to find any videos or other instuctions online. Are they like glued together so that you need heatgun or something or is the digitizer touch screen so fragile that it easily breaks if when forced?

mortenrobinson Of course! They can be separated. We also sell a lot of touch glasses for other phones everyday. But most buyers are factories and professional repairers. Both the touch glass and LCD screen are very fragile. It is hard to DIY replace the LCD screen with digitzer assembly. And it is very very hard to replace the touch glass alone. That's why we don't recommend our customers to do that. If you like challenge, you can have a try. You can follow our video to disassemble the LCD screen with digitizer at first. And then you can search "how to replace the touch glass alone" on KZbin. There are many guides for many phones. The way is similar. Good Luck to you!

I have a z3 compact and I was cleaning the gaps between the digitalizer and the phone's frame because I thought it was dirt but when used a toothpick I realize it was glue instead of dirt. Now the upper left side seems slightly movable as oppose to the rest of the screen which seems firm. I wonder if there are any risks of damaging the screen with dirt now that there is no glue there...?

My glass isn't broken, but on the right-hand side of the phone, right next to the micro sd slots, the screen is lifting up, glue must of went bad or something, because when it lights up, there is an orange spot in that same area, which is most likely the glue. Any way to reattach it? or does it need to be sent in? Because I have a warranty, which... I hope covers this, if it isn't possible for me to do it. But I'm curious to see if it's possible for me to do it myself.

The orange spot area of the LCD is broken. Maybe it is hurt by little things like keys in your pocket without your awareness. The rest of the screen is still working. The warranty will not cover this, because it is man-made damage. If you want to recover the function of that orange area, replacing for a new screen is the only way. Follow this video of repair guide, have a try to replace it by yourself. Good luck!

I plugged the new screen in the wrong way!? The flex cable was able to be plugged in reverse, and I turned the phone on. Now I plugged it in the correct way, but it still doesn't work. Have a shorted it out by plugging it in the wrong way? I only bought the digitizer, and used loca to attach it to the LCD. So it could also be that the LOCA has shorted the top of the LCD where the flex cable comes out. :(

JayRay00 The digitizer flex locates on the LCD flex. So if the short circuit problem happened, both the LCD flex and digitizer flex may be broken.
