Tips below. I should have read the comments first and avoided breaking my ear speaker. Mine came off in three pieces and while I pressed them back together, I guess that doesn't actually work. ;-) Didn't realize it was gone until I read the comments below just now, four days later. Will have to order and replace, but at least don't have to go too far in and don't have to remove all 17 screws! ;-) For anyone doing it the first time - it's a bit nervewracking. Hope observations below help (installed the screen with frame). 0:18 Keep screws separate throughout the process. Put the first two in a separate bowl or container from subsequent screws you'll be removing. 0:21 This wasn't immediately clear to me from watching, but the back cover is the flexible part. The main force with "spudger" is pushing it into the gap. I tried to pry a bit and broke my spudger. Got by. 0:47 Remove 17 (count 'em, 17!) screws. Take a picture or map out the screw colours on paper. They are different lengths and colour-coded. Keep these in a separate bowl. 1:16 Signal cable flexes are a bit finicky, particularly when reinstalling. Note that there's a guide clip for the wire just behind the contact at both ends. 1:30 ****See Emanuel Suceu's comments (should be pinned) re ear speaker. After my hassle with it, was going to suggest heat, and it sounds like it works. At that same point, you can see a blue circle to the left. I had what looked like a small, square mini circuit there. It was loose and just lifted out. I moved it to the new screen though I wasn't positive about orientation. 3:07 Kinda obvious, but I missed seeing him connect the screen flex, and of course, the screen wouldn't come on for test. A few moments of increased anxiety. For dolts like me, attach that before testing. 5:23 As mentioned below, replace the two screws removed at 1:19. This is missing in the video.

did your screen break, and you just bought a new screen part from ebay or something and it all worked out good? camera, faceid, everything working? did you need a heatgun
@vicmichener6735 жыл бұрын
@@ParkourAYCE My screen broke just over a month into owning it, after dropping it while only using the supplied "case" and no screen protector. Initially ordered the screen with frame on amazon.ca, but it never made it from China. In the end got it from AliExpress for less than $40 CAD (including tools supplied with screen). Everything working perfectly except the ear speaker, which I broke. (See notes from Emanuel Suceu to avoid this.) It arrived today from Ali. Was worried a heat gun might be too hot, so used a blow dryer. It worked okay, but a heat gun on low is probably good, too.
@vicmichener6735 жыл бұрын
One additional note. My screen did freeze at least once a day after installing, and I had to turn off and on to get it back. I read that the freezing issue was hardware dependent, and I hadn't had this problem on the factory version. I updated the o.s. and it works perfectly.

Thankyou for the great tutorial :-) Actually if it's okay... I would like to add a few tips for other people who are replacing their screen and cover. If you can help it, don't remove the signal cable from the motherboard. Keep it attached to the bottom USB piece and remove it as one piece. Mine broke and I had to make something work with blu tack and some sponge. Also at the bottom where the phone charges, a component was missed. There is a small part with an LED and a sticker (it is the notification LED). Make sure you remove that and put it on your new screen. Also make sure you replace the 2 motherboard screws when re-assembling.. it was missed in the video. Thanks again! Saved me $60 :)

I've had zero experience taking anything apart phone wise and managed to do this just fine - Even managed to keep the ear piece in sound condition. Just have to be very careful - If parts don't move straight away then care is needed. I used the very small flat head screwdriver to wedge under glued parts. Cheers for the video.

I bought the oem screen with frame. Next to that I needed some prying tools, a heat gun, T2 (torx) and regular Philips screwdriver which I for the most part didn't have and cost me another 15 bucks altogether. I didn't fancy prying the screen from the frame so settled for transplanting all inner parts to a new frame. Took me in total 2 hours but I took it very slowly and first time for me doing a thing like this. Snags along the way: - both the ear speaker and vibrator removal took some heat, they were glued as well. - When re-assembling don't forget the two tiny screws in the motherboard. I used some cleaning alcohol to clean camera lenses to be sure before putting back cover back. All seems to behave as new. Happy with the screen and end result. Thanks Wit Rigs, you saved me a bundle

B rammetje how's the quality of the screen? Did you buy it from them?

Thank you for your video. I've just replaced my 2nd Pocophone screen. Sometimes the back shell clings to the flash-LED and needs some prying and wiggling to come loose. The motherboard cover does not come off easily - it has strong latches at the sides near the top. When reinstalling the battery I use i-phone style (pull to loosen) strips.
@-The-Golden-God-5 жыл бұрын
0:33 I can't get into the side like that. I've been trying for half an hour with various tools and it won't budge. Watched a different video and managed to do it. You skipped the part where you must've used a pick to loosen the edges. You also skipped many parts that require heat in order to soften glued areas.

Which method would you recommend? Replacing the whole frame seems to be more time consuming and you end up removing many small parts, but removing the screen only looks pretty difficult. Also will a hairdryer do the trick if I don't have a heat gun?

To clarify Mago's comment, you can buy a screen already bonded to a frame (see 2:56), or you can buy the screen without a frame (see 6:03). If the new screen has a frame then you have to move all those parts over to the new frame - that's shown from 2:56 to 6:00 in this video. If you just buy the screen then you don't need to move those parts but you do have to do all the separation and adhesive work - that's from 6:00 to the end of the video. If moving the components to a new frame, this video misses two of them, korean zombie's comment details the one under the USB port, and there's also the front flash next to the speaker, which you can see at 7:16 of this teardown video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJy2fZmpnNGfaJY During reassembly - at 5:35, this vid forgets to remind you to put back the two screws that were removed at 1:18 Emanuel Suceu's comment also may have helped me avoid breaking the speaker. I also replaced the thermal paste when transferring the motherboard, not sure whether that's needed, but it's a good reason to not remove the motherboard unless you need to move it to a new frame. Thanks Wit Rigs, the operation was a success.

After watching a lot a Pocophone F1 screen repairs I ended up using the one at MovilOne Phone Repair. The one on this channel involved too many unnecessary steps. You don't have to remove the motherboard to replace the screen on the Pocophone. It's only the battery you need to remove. So you just unplug the things getting in the way of replacing the battery.
@ruisa98943 жыл бұрын
You havent seen the whole video. There are two different screens, with and without the frame. The video made by MovilOne only refers to the screen without the frame (like in the second part of this video).

You can get the screen as just the LCD panel or as a "full assembly" where the screen comes glued to the middle plate of the phone. He took the guts from his phone, transfered them to another screen+middle plate and snapped his original back on.
I replay the already disassembled and then disassemble it again. Ignore Xiaomi's hidden screw seals and super strong double-sided tape. If a beginner tries to see this, your POCO will surely die.
