Once El Terrible reached Velardez’ body, it was just a matter of time. Morales, is in the top 5 Mexican warriors of all time, in my opinion. Velardez was a game fighter with courage.

I agree but it’s hard to limit the great Mexican warriors to picking just five. Mine are Sanchez, Chavez, Morales, Marquez, and Barrera. Then what do you do with Zarate, Olivares, Lopez, and Canto. Some real tough choices as to who goes in that top five.

Morales seemed more afraid of having to spend the energy to duck and roll properly than of getting hit. He just didn't give a shit unless he felt he was in real danger of losing, only then the fighter in him came out and with it, all the underrated technical skills he possesses. Like Lampley (rarely) correctly says, he was so sharp against Paulie Ayala a few months back, and now he's fighting like he would rather go bowling or shooting craps instead of box.

Morales always seem to come alive when he was in trouble. That’s one of the reasons I say he’s my favorite fighter. He’s the ultimate underdog. When you think you have him down and out he fights back when such a tenacity, it’s extraordinary.

El Terrible, one of the best Mexican fighters and certainly in the top five. He has great defense and he can fight in the pocket, counter off the ropes, punch with, punch in between, counter and punching pulling out. One thing I’ve noticed is most great Mexican fighters use the left hook for body work. Erik used it some but his favorite body punch was a straight right to the mid section. I don’t think most fighters expect it. Velardez fought with great courage and a warriors heart. Hats off to him.

Great match for young fighters to learn from. The Great Morales had high ring IQ. He was always in a position to punch without getting hit much. A slight moment with head or feet and Velardez missed. The second thing is El Terrible had two punches, one average and the second really hard. He didn’t throw every punch hard until he knew it would do damage so he conserved energy. Last is body shots. He broke down Velardez body, took his will to fight away and weakened him. The KO followed. All great Mexican fighters commit to body pinches because it pays off as the fight goes on. Senor Morales is in my top five Mexican warriors, one of the very best.

En Navidad le regala comida a las familias más necesitadas, y el día del niño cierran una calle para darles un evento de música dulces pastel y juguetes ... No lo dice, y no sale levantando las manos para que le aplaudan , así era su mamá y su papá ... En la Zona Norte es gente muy respetada, y después de estos años, sigue trabajando ahí , lo puedes ver caminado en las calles y comiendo en los restaurantes de por ahí, la gente no lo acosa ni le piden nada, sólo lo ven y le dicen "hey campion , buenos días, buenas noches etc" fue delegado por parte del municipio en el cargo de deporte ... No es como que necesitará dinero, sólo quería ayudar a la gente a que asistiera a hacer deporte a instalaciónes dignas limpias y seguras ... A de tener sus debilidades como todos, pero quizás tenga más puntos positivos en su persona, tengo muchos años de conocerlo como vecino, no es mi amigo pero he mirado lo que hace por los demás y veo que no hace alarde ni publicidad de ello, por por acá todos sabemos y entendemos por qué un tipo como este, puede caminar en la calle como cualquier otra persona, sabe que la gente lo respeta y que su familia es gente de bien ...
