Bill Watts was known as being pretty tough but Erik is exaggerating here for sure, he was never the strongest guy in the world lol. And he was scared to fight Scott Steiner so he threatened him with a pistol.

I mean, Bill, in his book, claims to have snatched a guy's eyeball during a fight and swallowed it! Lol. I think the apple didn't fall too far from the tree.

I saw Bill Watts wrestle in Milwaukee in the 60's. Bill bled during the match and on his way to the locker room after the match some idiot wanted to blot his head to see if the blood was real. Bill picked the idiot up and tossed him into the crowd !!

@@kevthegoat8774 exactly and if you met either one in a room one on one you wouldn’t say anything but yes sir no sir lol but in crowds where people are riled, crazy, drunk and stupid… it only takes one guy at the right angle to stick you with something and you’re done. Anyone whose actually been in real fights will tell you the same thing. Your best self defense is your feet. You don’t know if that guy is ready to meet the lord, has 10 buddies waiting or is armed. This whole lone wolf male ego thing is just dumb and only keyboard warriors who watch too many 80’s movies believe it.

It's strange that other wrestlers never list Bill Watts when they list the true tough guys in the business. I guess if you want to know how tough Bill was, you have to ask a Watts.

I've heard it from a few wrestlers in shoots but I can't recall from whom. I think it's more most of who we hear in these shoots are from the 80s and 90s. If there were more interviews from Bill's era you might get more of his name mentioned. You could be right. Just an alternate theory.
