Erika Alexander and Tichina Arnold (Pam from Martin) are the 2 that I credit for making me love and appreciate my beautiful dark skin as a young teen during the 90's when it wasn't appreciated to be dark-skinned (at least where I was at in Brooklyn, NY). They also made help me to realize that there is nothing wrong with being owning my strength, independence, intelligence and beauty as a dark skin black woman when everyone else around me was saying or demonstrating the opposite.
@Amagem814 жыл бұрын
I'm originally from Brooklyn and remember being picked on for my dark complexion. From elementary school to middle school, it didn't happen often but when it did I was so surprised that kids so young could harbor such hate for another's skin tone. Made me appreciate how I was raised.

What does hair color have to do with anything? Women can have any hair color that they want to have!
@kyrathedestroyer_6 жыл бұрын
What does any of this have to do with her being well spoken. You can be well spoken and still have all these qualities. Black people are so hell bent on respectability politics but forget the fact that it was the loud outspoken and “ghetto” black people that help get us to a different place.

Someone hire this woman! Damn! One of the most insightful Breakfast Club interviews! Sad part is Nene & RHOA overshadow everything. Max & Kyle educated positive black role models. The 90’s had so many powerful black shows; Living Single, Roc, etc. Ae took two giant steps backwards in the 2000’s with a few exceptions. Smh.

This is interview was FLAWLESS from beginning to end. Classic interview by the Breakfast Club. Erika Alexander is super gorgeous, intelligent and beautiful.

Erika Alexander one of the BEST interviews I've seen on the Breakfast club. Very poised, knowledgeable. Her up bringing seems like it gave her determination and strength that made her the Woman that she has become...I applaud u.

Goodness gracious this woman is such a gem!! I’ve been a fan since Living Single first came out in the 90’s and I was a 15 year old. She just exudes regalness, excellence, higher consciousness, and historical knowledge of her peoples! Just a brilliant mind, not to mention she’s beautiful!! I just love her!! This is the second time listening to this particular interview 😂

This interview is like going to a family reunion and finally getting to talk to the Aunt your mom said was crazy, but is actually mad dope! I always wondered why I didn’t see her in more things. Can’t wait to see what projects she’s bringing forth. Most definitely will support. 🎉🎊👍🏾

I agree but it may be too personal/painful to share on screen, especially considering the feelings of her mom and siblings. It might cause another riff amongst them. It seems they have been through quite enough.

We need more strong Black men too, but what example can we use for them the way Erika Alexander, Michele Obama, and Judge Faith are good examples for Black women? Chad Boseman maybe? Anyway, many Bm online seem to complain about Black women being strong like it's a fault and don't want to hear anything from them (threatened by their intelligence and success) so it's good to hear you appreciate the sista.
