The lesson learned here, then, is to do all of your drawing in MOHO/Anime Studio - which I find clunky and annoying to be honest with you, especially when coming from an Illustrator background. I find MOHO's drawing tools a real pain in the arse, quite frankly! Anyway - thanks for the tutorial, I love your channel and have subscribed. Thanks for all your hard work in making your tutorials. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours!

I Racer this predates Moho 12 adding Bezier handles. Which changed everything. Exporting as SVG using Presentation display comes in beautifully. You cannot use special brushes in the SVG, anything that is unique to a single program. Strokes and colors come in accurately now. Brushes stokes are imported as shapes.

@@SquareBearStudio Thanks for the reply, bud. Do we still have to save Illustrator files in MOHO as Illustrator V.8? I'm using MOHO 12.5 I'm really not very advanced in MOHO or Illustrator. What do you mean by "Presentation"? I've never used SVG files in Illustrator. You mean there's an Illustrator option to 'export' (not save?) as SVG? I can't see SVG in my Illustrator export options - I can in Save menu though. I'm using CS6. Also, which version of SVG should we save as? Many thanks.

@@iraceruk Always SVG, never V8. The V8 is required because it is before all the extra features that other programs can handle easily. So SVG 1.1 set to Presentation attributes works for me, if the import comes up all black try a different method. I think you may need to choose the "advanced options" to see this choice.

Can you make an updated video about this topic? Like I see in your answers to the most recent comments here, this changed a lot in newer versions. And your explanations are always good and clear so I would love to have an updated video of this topic.

I recently had the same though. On my list when I finish my current project, which is eating a ton of my time. But SVG only is great. There is also apparently a script for bringing in layers but there are a lot of little tricks involved and I haven't had time to try. But also, Illustrator has to be saved back to version 8 and the color shifts are just awful.

i have a problem when i import from illustrator there is an open drawings witch are not closed in illustrator and is colored when it is opened in moho all the opened drawings became closed i dont want this, i dont want to delete lines with the delete edge tool because there is allot of drawings and this will take a long time, how to open the drawings in moho exactly like i draw them on illustrator?
@SquareBearStudio5 жыл бұрын
Big Boy Animation I recommend exporting as SVG. Use the Presentation output setting. This was made before Moho introduced Bezier handles and AI 8 is not a good format for color or shapes. SVG is a new standard, and I find that Presentation as the output option stops things from filling in.

@@SquareBearStudio Ok i will try to export as SVG.

Thanks for the tips. What if you have layers from Illustrator? for example a character with different parts. how you import that correctly?
@erikniells46865 жыл бұрын
There is a script that does that at gist.github.com/TomByrne/7816376 but it will not import with everything in place (everything will center and stack). to do that, you need to create a box that covers the entire character and put it on every layer, creating an SVG that has a consistent size. Once imported, one layer at a time I think, you'll need to go through each layer and delete that box. Maybe give it a thick colored border or set it to a color not used in the character so it's easy to grab and delete. Not completely automated but still better than exporting each layer one at a time (which would still need to use the box for keeping things in place from what I've seen, even if you save with artboards). I've only tried this once, but it works.

I don't get why; I mean, it seems like you could do this simple illustration in anime pro

Wait for the clients to hand over EPS or AI files and then you’ll get it.

Hi! Thank you for video. There is a problem with the colors when import from Adobe Illustrator into Anime Studio. The colors are distorted. This problem has a solution?

u save it as svg and then imprted as illustater .ai wtf ?
@SquareBearStudio6 жыл бұрын
Dirasa Dirasa nope, I saved as AI 8 and imported. I also did an SVG and imported it as an SVG to compare import quality. The SVG is a more modern method but does a better job on color. I did both, showed them side by side, then did the work in the AI
