Same, I dont like "Upstead" to me it seemed extremely rushed when Linstead was that trusting partner/Best friend build up over the years before they realized what everyone else already knew, They were in love.

The biggest Linstead shippers were Linstead themselves for awhile. That's what made this ship different and something special. It's 2021, and I don't want Jay to dwell on past relationships, but it's about time the writers give us an update and closure with Linstead. Has Jay heard from Erin since she left without saying goodbye? Did he get closure? With Jay and Haley settling down, it's an ideal time to address this through dialog between Jay/Adam, Jay/Will and others.

I wonder if for legal purposes and how Sophia left the show, they can’t mention her character. It does seem like a stretch though considering NBC owns the show, so they should own her character rights. I know she left on terrible terms with many of the higher ups on the show and it’s rumored her and Jason were on bad terms as well so I wonder if the writers just don’t want to open that can of worms by mentioning her character. Plus the sheer mention of her would send the fans into a frenzy of theories and potential hope she would come back for an episode. Still, it’d be nice to have closure.

@@allibush1895 - at this point, if they are going to mention her it is because her character died offscreen. There is plenty that they could work with if they went in that direction. Hank would be devastated. They could even set it up that she was supposed to meet Hank in Chicago and have the Intelligence Unit solve her murder.

late reply but there is a deleted scene from S5 somewhere on twitter from the Chicago pd account. The conversation was between Jay and Kim and she asks him (if I remember correctly) if he's heard from her and he says yeah and she's going good but you never know with her and he was staring at the desk she used to sit at before that scene and after the conversation.

I binge watched the first 4 seasons in like 2 weeks just now, my first time watching. Then I started season 5 but realized Erin wouldn’t be back so I’m not even going to bother continuing cause the onscreen chemistry between Erin and Jay was just ridiculously good and it’s what kept the entire series so interesting😭

I watched till season 4 only Im bursting in tears😭when she left When jay calling her. She didn’t answer it hurt so much😭 she should come back at least one episode. just talk to jay and explaine why she left without saying goodbye to him, jay deserve happy ending with erin # LINSTEAD❤️🇵🇭

I always repeat S1-4 because they were the best seasons. I always thought Jay and Erin made sense with all their individual history, pain etc. They always knew what the other needed. It sure would be nice to see her come back, even as it wraps up or at least we see Jay leave for New York to be with her because he just can’t move past her leaving. I like how they ended the story for Jesse Williams who played Dr. Jackson Avery on Greys Anatomy, they brought back Sarah Drew,who played Dr. April Kepner because it made sense that they would end up together. The chemistry and partnership between Erin and Jay was undeniable. Jay and Hailey don’t make sense in so many ways, the writing is lazy in that she is with Ruzek and now with Jay...... just my thoughts.

Rewatching the first 4 seasons of Chicago PD for the 3rd time. I'm still not able to continue with the other seasons since Sophia left the show. Ever since season 1 I wished Erin and Jay would be endgame because they had amazing chemistry and it would be too painful for me to watch him being with another woman other than Erin.
