The questionable quote is from the Chinese story 没有过不去的坎儿 (There is no obstacle that cannot be overcome). It's about a Chinese woman in the Sino-Japanese war. She experienced it's of setbacks but saw through every single one and finally died of old age with a positive attitude. The quote goes on: " After she knew about it, she would come to those people and soothed them by saying, “Don’t do that silly thing. There are no such setbacks that we could not overcome. The Japanese armies are bound to be foiled one day!”

I'm 45 seconds into the video and I just want to give you an absolutely MASSIVE thank you for making an effort to avoid the AI images - I'm so sorry that people had been mean previously (or if I myself when pointing out was coming across as mean too!) I just did my first order from journalsay with their sale and I'm certainly worried I'll have a ton more than I realize, myself. I wasn't super careful when picking but I'm planning to make a few videos about noticing AI art whenever I start my book channel :) I hope people are nice to you this time around and I'll mention any I see below this comment!

I use the sticker pages (the marbled ones) as pockets in my journal. They hold index cards beautifully, and you can peel off the backing just from 3 of the outside edges to stick them on. 🥰

I am also obsessed with keys! I'm glad you pointed out that they have lots of key stickers - I need those! Maybe September could b vintage doors. Or rooms behind the doors. You could add "paintings" in the rooms with the frames, as well.

I've noticed the questionable text on some washi tape from journalsay, it usually makes me laugh, but the one on your washi tape is really crazy and ominous. I have a vintage text roll that looked so aesthetically pleasing on the website, and I still use it. But it has lines like 'I need my cowboys to be busy. No trouble, no trouble, no trouble' and 'the boss first came for a milkshake and invited you before he ran for his life'. Why? How? I'm really confused.

It happens a lot with stickers - bought a couple of sticker books in my local shop, the designs are cute, but the texts are so random (and full of missing letters, etc.) not sure if I'll be using some of them 😅

I got some vintage text washi from Amazon and they had REALLY weird text on it too! I thought it was just me! lol I am wondering if they are text from different books or if they just make up random sayings in order to fill the space thinking we don't really care what the text says.... spoiler alert --- I DO, in fact, care! lol

I have a stamp cleaner pad similar to that one, it's got more of a long "velour" type fabric to rub the stamp against and with that one you can remove the pad and wash it (I use dish soap and let it dry when it gets too grungy), I got it at Michael's here in the US (it's made by Recollections, if I remember correctly, and you just squirt their stamp cleaner on it)

not gonna lie, that purple scrapbook paper set reminded me of biology class where we had to look at cells under a microscope or something. The navy/black celestial ish washi tape set looks similar to a set I got a couple of years ago, I should probably try to use them one day 😅

I love these videos because it means I can justify buying more stationary :D . I also have the exact feather pen, but I got it from somewhere else. I did get that pack of marble paper set from Journal say last year, and I too was a bit disappointed with how they were in real life. I use them, but I certainly regret buying them. I loved the vellum paper and the other transparent paper sets. So, it's time to go shop!

That pastel grid washi 😍😍😍 I love using with washi that has elements on it in the same colorway, it just adds something to it and makes it look really vintage and old soul which is definitely my vibe. Love seeing your hauls! I can't wait until I am able to build my stash hopefully one day soon but I am taking notes from your hauls for when that happens!

Love a Journalsay haul! The witchy papers, the key stickers and the basics washi set are really testing my resolve not to make another order until I've used up more stuff from my previous one 😅 Also the sticker storage, I really need to invest in some. Don't burn your dip pen nibs! The rapid change in temperature can warp them out of shape and make them funky to write with, if not unusable! If the ink dipping doesn't work then you can use a tiny bit of hand sanitiser wiped on with a tissue to remove the coating on the metal, really looking forward to seeing your calligraphy with dip pens- fair warning it's addictive once you get the hang of it!

I have the monets garden set. You should be able to line the tapes up to make the picture on the front of the box. Just thought I'd mention it incase you wanted to test it out. I think it turns out really pretty.

I also bought these eucalyptus and ginkgo stickers ages ago and was so mad about how big they are 😂🤦🏼 I find that really annoying with shops like journalsay, you could be lucky but if you don't pay enough attention you end up with stuff that you didn't really want and if you pay enough attention you accidentally spend 5 hours going through all different kinds of products again and again 🤔

We are now buddiees erin...I have the exact washi tape set. The witchy oneee... In fact I used them today while watching your vlog haha....I Love the set and the light blue pattern is my fav. They are good quality and great bang for the buck. Oh for sample a lab vial holder or lipstick holder is a little better though but, hey u can also put stickers and off cuts in there.

It's a shame about the Monet washi. I love his artwork and I know I would have been attracted to it. I have never heard of this supplier before so I think I will browse around their website. I don't need anything at all, but I have never let that stop me! It looks like they are a reasonably priced company, which will also get me in trouble.

Hi! Simply it matters beccause its pushing an already difficult to make a living job further into the "unlivable carreer" - keep in mind artists are already called starving artists for a reason. Long form- it matters because a lot of AI art is trained with art stolen from various artists without permission, who often sell their own work as their job, taking commissions or also making Journaling products. When AI art is trained using the stolen art from people trying to make a living, for a much lower cost than the people doing the manual work of creating loving art (not that AI does not also take refinement and time) then we are pushing actual artists completely out of their jobs. They cannot compete with the 20 dollar pack AI generated off stolen art to emulate their style when they have to charge 150 for time and labor for a single image. Showing consumer interest in ai art allows companies to justify continuing selling of Ai art. I hope this helps you :)
