I am an Ethiopian Agew from Lalibela which was the political capital city of the Zagwe dynasty. The 11 Rock-hewn churches of Lalibela which are the World's heritages are located in the holly town of Lalibela. These 11churches each are chiseled out from an underground rock by King & Saint Lalibela. This surprising & glorious architectural work is mostly attributed to the people of Agew. So, being one wing of the Agew poeple the Bilens have a share to this glorious & proud-able history. So visit

Of course yes, Semraweldesus. First I beg your pardon for my delayed response. The Agews in Ethiopia are the Himras/ Hamras who speak Hamraic & live around Wag & Lasta in North Wollo, the Awi who speak Awigna & live in West Gojam next to Lake Tana and the Kimant who speak Kimantigna & live so dispersed in North Gonder. All these sister people always meet each year to celebrate their common culture & history. And I honestly hope that one day our sister people of Bilen will join this event.

Yes, Agew contributed to our beautiful history. Lalibela from Wollo, Ase Tedrose (King Tedros) from Gonder, Temben from Aksum Tsion, Nubian in Egypt and Sudan, Bilen, Kembata, and many others.

Hi Abumessih, thanks 4 ur comment. The badime case is so recent & temporary disagreement. And I hope it'll get solved soon if both gov'ts discuss it amicably. But believe me that the glorious & an age old history and common identity of both the Ethiopian and Eritrean people will always surpass this minor barricade. So too, the Bilen may come & visit their once political and holly city of Lalibela. At then they would rejoice at the greatness of their ancestors/ the Zagwe Kings /.

Belete: Thanks for the brief historical lesson of the Zague dynasty and the forgotten civilization of the Agew people; where their heritage is still vivid on stone hewn churches or other cultural trends throughout the northern part of Ethiopia. And the Bogos people know that. But that is just ancestral linkage,that has nothing to do with the political reality of today's .Ethiopia. If our two sisterly nations settle the Badime dispute & normalize diplomacy; of course one day may happen all.:
