He is strong yes, but clumsy and lacks a good technique, plus he is not that strong for superheavyweights where he falls in. Any decent heavyweight will destroy him in no time.

Not so sure I agree with Ray that fasting is good for this particular athletic performance. For instance most of the muslim fighters (Khabib, Islam etc) always avoid having fight camps during the ramadan, right? Fasting has many health benefits generally but peeking for a strength based competition is another story imo.

The issue is that the Muslim fasting you don’t drink water or food. These guys train 3 times a day. Imagine the sweat after one training session and then not drinking water. Not possible

I am pretty sure has nothing to do with the fasting, as Ramadan fasting is pretty easy 12-17 hrs daily! Fighters avoid scheduling fights because it’s a time for them to have spiritual discipline, be with their families, etc.
