If corporations are going to lose revenue who will pay for the servers? Who will pay for maintaining and support? The users? It would be a large subscription cost.

Agreed. If the goal is convergence, then having in place the infrastructural means of making the Readyverse subscription-free would be an essential component. Nobody’s going to pay a subscription to go shopping, for example. EDIT: Counterpoint: Sam’s Club.
