It is so beautiful to see people from my tribe speak of our culture and being able to find it online. So much of our culture has been erased. Its amazing to have it here.

Hello, Ernest. Steve here, your classmate from BUHS. Happy to hear from you but sad to hear about your background. I’m a card carrying member of the Choctaw Tribe of Oklahoma. Some of my ancestors walked the trail of tears from Mississippi and Alabama under the “wise” leadership of Andrew Jackson. Hope to see you in person for our next school reunion. Take care.

I wonder if a good friend who passed Leonard Siva related in some way. He lived on the Rincon but buried in Pala. From what I know traveling from palm springs to San Diego on foot was regular.

I have a great respect and curiosity about native Americans. The more I did and learn about them the more I realize I was lied to; and the lies don’t always fall on the benefit of the natives. It is however interesting learning about these fascinating tribes they ultimately lost a battle with a more advanced tribe
