I hope this type of music never leaves. To me it's real country not what country is today. Live to dance music every time.

Great as always, as you know, ET is one of my favorite singers, I don't recall hearing him sing A Guy Named Joe, was this before or after, another favorite singer of mine Stonewall Jackson's song..A Little Guy Named Joe? Thanks John, hope you're staying warm in Houston!
@2packs4sure2 жыл бұрын
I'd never heard Stonewall's A Little Guy Named Joe and I like it too! Two totally different songs that are SO similar.. Stonewall cut his May 2nd 1960 and ET cut his April 6th 1960.... I don't know which one was commercially available first but they had to be close to each other... Interesting factoid,,, Floyd Cramer played piano on both of them... A Little Guy Named Joe recorded ~ May 2 1960 ~ Bradley Film and Recording Studio, 804 16th Ave. South, Nashville, TN ~ Stonewall Jackson (Grady Martin [gt], Howard Rhoton [gt], Don Helms [steel], Junior Huskey [bass], Buddy Harman [drums], Floyd Cramer [piano]. Producer: Don Law)

First time hearing this song. But has anyone noticed that this beat sounds a lot like Johnny Cash's Distant Drums. Wonder what happened? 😊😊

Rare example of Buddy Emmons on lead guitar.
@2packs4sure2 жыл бұрын
Yeah,, there are six sessions from March 20 1960 thru June 6 1960 where the session personnel is listed that way,, with Emmons on lead guitar and Bobby Garrett on steel. I'd LOVE to know what was going on there. I do know Bobby WAS there because ET calls him out on one the the tracks from the Ernest Tubb Record Shop album but I've forgotten which one.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ap7QYoKQa9l6aZY
