Great pod as always, ERN. I just want to share my opinion on your question about releasing music. I personally favor albums so I can digest the whole project for a couple months, then keep my favorites in my heavy rotation, and come back to the whole project whenever I’m just feeling the overall vibe of the music at any moment in time. Album releases just overall leave me satisfied for a longer amount of time which I guess, theoretically, would give you more time to prepare new stuff assuming other people feel the way I do about albums. As far as singles go though, if you are going to release one song at a time, the more frequent the better. If you could release songs every 6-8 weeks or quicker, I would be thrilled and I think your whole fan base would be too. However, if you’re only going to release songs 6+ months apart, it puts an extraordinarily greater amount of pressure on your songs to resonate with me. Luckily, you’ve yet to put out a song that I don’t love and “Cheers” and “American Rust” are both some of my favorite songs right now, so the long wait times haven’t and won’t put a damper on how often I listen to your music with those particular releases. However, I’d personally like for single releases from you every 6 months not to become common ground. I think we all would ideally want the singles to come at least a little more frequently than that.
