Ernie Cefalu is a contemporary artist and Senior Creative Director, currently working out of Los Angeles, CA. He is known for designing art for music albums.
Cefalu attended the California College of Arts and Crafts (now California College of the Arts) and graduated in 1969 with honors. Soon after, Cefalu started his career on Madison Avenue at Carolini Advertising, where his first assignment was to create the campaign and graphics for the International Paper Company's 1970 national sales meeting. His solution took the form of an elaborate, award-winning off-Broadway musical production, Dolls Alive. In the early part of 1970 Cefalu became an Art Director at Norman Levit Advertising where he created the Jesus Christ Superstar album and Angels in an agency shootout with the Decca Records account as the prize.
The Bee Gees were a music group formed in 1958, featuring brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb. The trio were especially successful as a popular music act in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and later as prominent performers of the disco music era in the mid- to late 1970s. The group sang recognisable three-part tight harmonies; Robin's clear vibrato lead vocals were a hallmark of their earlier hits, while Barry's R&B falsetto became their signature sound during the mid- to late 1970s and 1980s. The Bee Gees wrote all of their own hits, as well as writing and producing several major hits for other artists and have been regarded as one of the most important and influential acts in pop music history.[4] They have been referred to in the media as The Disco Kings, Britain's First Family of Harmony, and The Kings of Dance Music.
Born on the Isle of Man to English parents, the Gibb brothers lived in Chorlton, Manchester, England, until the late 1950s. There, in 1955, they formed the skiffle/rock and roll group the Rattlesnakes. The family then moved to Redcliffe, in the Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia, later to Cribb Island. After achieving their first chart success in Australia as the Bee Gees with "Spicks and Specks" (their twelfth single), they returned to the UK in January 1967, when producer Robert Stigwood began promoting them to a worldwide audience. The Bee Gees' Saturday Night Fever soundtrack (1977) was the turning point of their career, with both the film and soundtrack having a cultural impact throughout the world, enhancing the disco scene's mainstream appeal. They won five Grammy Awards for Saturday Night Fever, including Album of the Year.
The Bee Gees have sold over 120 million records worldwide[8][9] (with estimates as high as over 225 million records sold worldwide),[10][11] making them among the best-selling music artists of all time. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997;] the Hall's citation says, "Only Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Michael Jackson, Garth Brooks and Paul McCartney have outsold the Bee Gees." With nine number-one hits on the Billboard Hot 100, the Bee Gees are the third-most successful band in Billboard charts history behind only the Beatles and the Supremes.
Following Maurice's sudden death in January 2003 at the age of 53, Barry and Robin retired the group's name after 45 years of activity. In 2009, Robin announced that he and Barry had agreed that the Bee Gees would re-form and perform again. Robin died in May 2012, aged 62, after a prolonged period of failing health, leaving Barry as the only surviving member of the group

I found out about this group when George Lynch posted on an Instagram story a list of his favorite albums. The 1972 debut album is now of my favorites.

Now personally, I would rank Dawn Explosion as their best album (in fact, one of the greatest albums of ALL TIME!). Next would be the debute album, but I have no use for sufficiently breathless at all - the title track is MAYBE worth a listen, but Dawn Explosion KILLS!!!! I mean, c'mon - "do or die", "Icarus", "if you please", "Fantasy", "breath of fire" - just INCREDIBLE stuff!!!!

I have the same feeling about Dawn Explosion! After a few listens, you start to realize just how tight the band was, and Daffron's singing is powerful and top notch. Another band Bobby was in a couple years before the last C.B. record, was ARMAGEDDON! That was an incredible debut! But as usual with Bobby Caldwell's luck, he was in bands that had shitty management, and didn't support the music or the musicians! Bobby had actually been referred to Armageddon, by the great Aynsley Dunbar! The other 3 members were English, with front man singer Keith Relf, from the Yardbirds. They were looking for a drummer who could play in odd time signatures, and Dunbar said, if you're in L.A. Caldwell is the guy to get. Bobby also did a short stint with Cactus for i believe a spring summer tour in 1973. A monster talent, that never got the break he deserved.

Criminally underrated. It came out in 1977... terrible time for Rock. It was all Disco, Punk and New Wave...

I love all 3 LPS; the first just has to be considered among the greatest of all time - it's the only one w/ all four members. I love the second 99,9% as much but it unquestionably has a different vibe. Caldwell for some reason not a part of the project, and he was replaced w/ two percussionists whose sound different than Bobby's magnificence. Aside: I think Captain Beyond's debut the single greatest rock drumming record of all time - drivingly powerful but also rhythmically intricate - ebbing, flowing, rising, falling, pounding, soothing, and all changes perfectly suited to the other instruments' mix in the song. Actually, the album is just one song separated by segues into the next - which is another reason for its deserving of rock music reverance. True tho by the time the third came along, there was something lost certainly Rod Evans strong vocals missing; they being intricate to the band's identity and irreplaceable to the band's "sound" tho Daffern did fine work himself. What a great band. Rhino a great guitarist who deserved much more acclaim. Dorman seemed the glue who made all the other parts stick together, and Bobby Caldwell what can you say? Johnny Winter, & Live before and Armageddon after? Both those records also amazingly great - and those superlatives inadequate description. And in closing, the album artwork for sure added to and improved the entire coolness of the whole Captain Beyond's "starglow energy." ;-). Very cool too to learn the man behind the artwork. 50+ years listening to all three records and still dig doing so ... t/y for this YT.

I still listen to the full sufficiently breathless lp. Sufficiently Breathless is one of my all time favorite tunes. Keep it in my playlist. What a treat to find this upload. Guess I favor prog over metal, though an old Black Sabbath fan.
