This is the best gospel quartet ever. Ernie has put together a top notch polished group. Several improvements over the years. The new lead tenor is an improvement. Down grading the the piano player from essential personality and adding a real horn band was super. Choreography and showmanship are the best ever. Creating a look for the group has made each of them look better than they do in /real life'. Tim Duncan departure was a disaster. No one has come close to being as good as Tim. You always want to upgrade the talent when changing personnel. Touring is hard on family live so staying together for years is a real feat and it takes a good leader to pull that off.

I have to disagree with the very first sentence in your comment. The best gospel quartet in my lifetime was The Cathedral Quartet. This video was all about honoring The Cathedrals. Ernie is carrying on the legacy of Glen and George. Ernie joined the group sometime in 1990. Later, he married George’s daughter Lisa. There is no doubt that that helped cement his position as the tenor singer until The Cathedrals retired. In all honesty, I think Ernie was only the fourth best tenor singer in the history of The Cathedrals. I would have Danny Funderburk at number one, then Roy Tremble and Kirk Talley in the next two spots, and then Ernie. I’m not hating on Ernie, because he is a really good tenor singer, but being George’s son-in-law definitely helped him be the longest tenured tenor singer in the 35 year history of The Cathedrals.
