Fave metal album of 2024. In a year of Knocked Loose, Darko, BMTH, Cure stood out to me for being the most bold. Perfectly tight groovy chill record and it honestly sounds like the gang had fun making it. It never needed to be Self-titled 2.0 but lets rejoice that Cure can happily stand alongside it as already fantastic body of work for Erra. EDIT: your thoughts on "Blue Reverie" are really funny cuz I applied that one criticism to "End to Excess". Meanwhile "Blue Reverie" grew to be one of my favorite Erra tracks of all time. One day it just hit me, like Thirteenth Step-era A Perfect Circle (if you catch my drift) and its so damn vibey lol.

That is absolutely fair! I think this one will grow on me for sure! I've always loved their approach to writing and I feel like this album is no different!

Past Life Persona and Idle Wild have become some of my favorite ERRA songs of all time. I put this album at number 3 personally. Just behind Impulse and then Drift.

Brilliant album. Glad they didnt go Self-Titled 2.0 as that was perfect as it is. Constantly evolving their style and its great. Favourite songs are Glimpse, Past Life Persona and Blue Reverie. Love Wave as well, it felt like a throwback to a Neon track.

I am also glad they didn't do a self titled 2 as well! I'm glad you really like it! I'll have to go back and give it another go then!

@@AudioAddictionmediaTo be fair it grew on me. Didnt think much at release, like I thought it was a good album but a little underwhelming for ERRA. Now, having given it enough time, its really grown on me and I really enjoy it. Its not up there with Augment and Drift but its still a solid album.

I think I was just a little shocked by how much ghost atlas style music made its way into the new Erra sound (which isn't a bad thing) I know I'll probably come around to it haha and I think Drift is an underrated record in their catalog!
